About the Role: The Global Public Safety Liaison team consists of highly motivated professionals responsible for interactions with law enforcement and public safety agencies. We are committed to safety and privacy and constantly seek to build trust within our law enforcement and public health communities.

We are looking for a Public Safety Liaison Manager for Iraq, a dynamic role with varied responsibilities and minimal supervision. You will manage Careem's relationships with public safety authorities across Iraq. This includes developing innovative solutions to engage with law enforcement and public health agencies, while promoting Careem's commitment to safety, privacy, and transparency.

This is a highly dynamic role involving both routine and ad-hoc responsibilities and therefore, we are  looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual with a strong work ethic to join our team with focus on safety and privacy. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent judgment, prioritize effectively, and collaborate well under pressure while communicating with both external and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1.  Deliver a positive safety impact through proactive engagement with law enforcement.
  2. Use data to generate valuable insights, identify business risks, and drive change. 
  3.  Create sustainable relationships with law enforcement and regulatory authorities to deliver business outcomes. 
  4. Promote safety and build trust with law enforcement agencies through training on Careem Ride emergency and investigative support capability. 
  5. Promote data privacy and identify gaps/opportunities to drive LE legal process adoption. 
  6. Engage with investigators during complex and critical investigations, engaging appropriate Careem stakeholders as required. 
  7.  Inform the response to safety and reputational risk following critical incidents. 
  8. Be comfortable being on-call for after-hours assistance to team members who respond to 24/7 emergencies. 
  9. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including regional Legal, Policy, Safety Comm's, Safety Product, etc. 
  10.  Be prepared to travel within the area of responsibility on a short notice. 
  11.  Be prepared to testify in court. 

What you'll need:

  1. 8+ years of subject matter expertise gained within a criminal investigations role in the law enforcement agencies. 
  2. Proven communications skills, including experience working and communicating with senior Law Enforcement officials.
  3. Proficient in presenting findings both orally and in writing.
  4. Skilled in various computer systems and internet technologies (Mac, Google, online research, etc.).
  5. Ability to exercise sound judgment, communication and persuasive skills.
  6. Ability to work  in a fast-paced environment and effectively adapt to daily challenges.
  7. Knowledge in data protection legislation and criminal/administrative investigations. 
  8. Willingness to travel within the country as required and upon request.
  9. Flexible and able to work non-traditional hours on short notice.
