Public Relations (PR) Manager (Europe)

As Shift’s Public Relations Manager for Europe, you will play a vital role in maximizing brand awareness for the company in the region. Working closely with the global corporate communications team and local resources you will be responsible for telling the Shift story to journalists covering insurance, InsurTech, and AI/GenAI, in both the trades and business press.  You will inform the strategy for localizing the Shift story as appropriate to maximize relevance in a given geography while maintaining Shift brand integrity. 

This position is based in Paris, France and reports to the Head of Corporate Communications. Due to the nature of the position, we anticipate this role to be in the office two days per week to connect with our teams and leaders.

What You'll Do

  • Baseline the program, establish KPIs and drive reporting
    • Benchmark Shift’s current media relations efforts in Europe, both individually and relative to peers and competitors
    • Define the KPIs that will showcase what “Shift Media Relations Success” looks like
    • Make relevant recommendations on engagement strategy with key journalists and publications covering the space
    • Develop reporting structure and timing that meets the needs of the larger marketing organization and the business overall
  • Own engagement & execute the program
    • Coordinate with colleagues (field, product, brand and partner marketing, as well as the local go-to-market teams) to understand which initiatives and campaigns will benefit from media relations support
    • Act as a primary point of contact for EMEA-based journalists
    • Own localization of news, bylines and other relevant content
    • Drive development of localized content relevant to the region

About You

  • Have 5-10 years of media relations experience (B2B, SaaS, enterprise technology preferred, insurance industry a plus) in an in-house, or agency setting
  • Are a self-starter comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the media landscape and how to tell an amazing story
  • Are detail and deadline oriented
  • Can adapt strategies and tactics to meet changing business requirements
  • Are a native/bilingual French speaker also fluent in English (other languages a plus)
