Public Health AmeriCorps Service Fellowship supports the operational and administrative functions of a multi-year program designed to shrink health disparities in the San Gabriel Valley.

Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct door-to-door surveys and assessments in the assigned areas of the San Gabriel Valley
- Support planning and coordination of a program activities and operations
- Coordinate and maintain applicable program schedules and agendas, which may include tracking deadlines, deliverables, communication with management and/or stakeholders
- Help deliver general welfare interventions to the assigned communities of the San Gabriel Valley
- Use software apps and tools to collect and report relevant data tracking community health metrics
- Other duties as assigned by the Program and Area Managers
Scope and Travel:
- Extensive travel by foot and by car within the San Gabriel Valley (Cities of Rosemead, El Monte, South El Monte), as well as travel to and from CORE’s Los Angeles Headquarters (Chinatown)
Qualifications:
- Preference for candidate with bachelor’s degree in public health or health sciences, or at least two year’s equivalent experience in relevant field
Experience:
- Experience in community outreach, conducting surveys, collecting data, and reporting data
- Experience working with community-based organizations, local government agencies, volunteer groups in LA County (preferred)
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Flexible and adaptive to a frequently changing environment
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Close attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, or Vietnamese (highly desirable)
- Ability to walk 4-5 miles/day in warm climates (reliable transportation required)
- Knowledgeable of HIPAA (recommended)
