Public Affairs Officer (Political Communication)

Your role

As our Political Communication Officer, you will be responsible for formulating communication materials based on the company’s policy positions, ensuring clear and effective dissemination of Fastned's messaging to external stakeholders. This role involves developing political communication material (stump speeches, talking points, articles) for the Government and Public Affairs Director and others, providing content to the organisation of events to promote Fastned’s policy positions, and providing input for the drafting of CEO statements and other external communications for executive team members, and the CEO. Key responsibilities include creating content that effectively communicates Fastned’s policy positions, specifically formulated to address relevant audiences, coordinating with the Campaign Officer to ensure alignment with advocacy strategies, and defining priority external messaging. You will also be responsible for organizing and managing the content of publications (brochures, books, and other materials) that communicate political content for the company, ensuring they effectively convey Fastned’s policy positions.


You will also liaise internally with the PR department to ensure that public relations efforts are aligned with the public affairs messaging priorities. This coordination ensures a cohesive political communication strategy across all platforms and audiences. Additionally, you will be responsible for organizing and managing events that promote Fastned’s policy objectives, enhancing the company’s visibility and influence within relevant policy and industry circles. Regular collaboration with the Policy Officer, Campaign Officer, and other members of the Public Affairs team is essential to ensure that all communication efforts are well-coordinated and effectively support Fastned’s strategic goals.


In this role, you will be:


  • Owning Fastned’s Political communication strategy internal & external
  • Draft and formulate speeches, articles, opinion pieces, social media content
  • Be in charge for organizing and managing the content of publications that communicate political content
  • Working closely with the Director of Government and Public Affairs and the broader PA team
  • Ensuring stakeholder alignment across the broader Fastned team (e.g. PR , commercial and brand teams, country managers,legal, network development..)

NB Please note that this role is focused on Political Communication, as part of the wider PA Department, and does not encompass brand marketing communications or PR activities aimed at broader customer audiences
