Wisk’s internship experience is a 12 week, hands-on program. Our goal for our internship program is to see what it’s like to be a full time Wisk employee and complete meaningful work.
We are looking for a Propulsion Systems Test Intern to join our team for summer 2025. The goal of a Propulsion Systems Test Intern at Wisk is to ensure that you gain real-world experience and valuable contributions to test and integration activities. You will be part of the Systems Test and Simulation team that designs, assembles, and commissions test assets used for development and verification testing of Wisk’s Gen 6 propulsion system
Responsibilities:
- As part of the Systems Test and Simulation organization, and deployed in an Propulsion Systems Test you will act as a Propulsion Systems Test Intern for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market
- You will take part in designing, commissioning, and troubleshooting test fixtures and rigs. This hands-on position requires a strong background in engineering principles, test rig design, and system integration with experience in CAD design, rapid prototyping, shop tools, and test equipment.
- Support the mechanical and electrical design, procurement, manufacturing and assembly of test fixtures and harnesses
- Integrate flight hardware and commission test fixtures
- Collaborate with test engineers and technicians to troubleshoot and automate test assets
- Get familiar with the architecture of our test assets, aircraft subsystems, and team processes
Requirements:
- Must be currently pursuing a bachelors, masters or PhD degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or a relevant engineering degree) with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and June 2027
- Experience turning conceptual designs into physical parts/assemblies
- Experience with creating parts, assemblies, and engineering drawings with CAD software such as NX (preferred) or Solidworks
- Extensive hands-on experience with rapid prototyping and/or machine shop tools
Hourly rate will be $25 USD an hour.
This internship role will be based at Wisk's office in Fremont, California and relocation or housing will not be provided.

Must live in the US at both the time of application AND at the time the internship begins
Must be either a rising sophomore, junior, or senior in college
Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, transcripts are required
Must be an enrolled student at both the time of application AND at the time the internship begins
Must be able to work 40 hours a week for 12 weeks (full-time for 3 months)
