Job Summary
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Materials handler is responsible for tracking and organizing materials as a kit and or packages for planned work. In addition, the Material Coordinator provides input to the schedule and in some cases is assigned to expedite material to ensure Material is on-site in order to schedule the work as a component of the work management process. This is a hands-on role that involves looking after the movement, loading, storing, and handover of project-related materials.
Responsibilities
Identifies critical issues, synergies, and conflicts that may affect the long-term schedule and sources materials for urgent work.
Provides input for the planning of approved work orders related to materials procurement and execution prior to the target start date, as assigned.
Tracks the delivery and availability of materials and tools to meet the scheduled start date, ensuring they are secured before the scheduled work begins.
Executes the business process for procuring resources for scheduled work orders.
Complies with quality specifications and authority levels outlined in the system documentation.
Review material tracking and work order status reports daily to monitor upcoming tasks.
Immediately escalates any concerns regarding the delivery or availability of materials or tools for the scheduled start date.
Assembles, identifies, labels, and moves work package materials and tools to the designated pick-up point prior to the scheduled start.
Assists with expediting parts required for planned work and relocating work order kits to the work area.
Performs any other responsibilities related to the Materials Coordinator role as required or assigned by the department head.
This will be a Monday to Thursday 10 hour day schedule on a mine site near Princeton BC, LOA will be provided.
