Salary Range:
The expected pay range for this position is $150,000 to $175,000 yearly. The pay rate will vary based on skills, experience, and location.
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager with a minimum of 5 years of proven expertise in managing technical support projects, particularly in the realm of data policy and strategy. As part of our team supporting the Chief Data Officer (CDO), you will play a pivotal role in overseeing various initiatives, including Data Governance, Data Inventory Program (DIP), Data Architecture, and Ontology development. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data management practices and a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams towards successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Data Policy and Strategy Development: Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive data policies and strategies aligned with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with the Chief Data Officer and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and adherence to established guidelines.
- Data Governance Oversight: Drive the establishment and maintenance of robust data governance frameworks, including defining roles and responsibilities, establishing data quality standards, and implementing monitoring mechanisms to ensure compliance.
- Data Inventory Program (DIP) Management: Manage the execution of the Data Inventory Program, including defining inventory scope, coordinating data discovery efforts, and facilitating the documentation of metadata and data lineage information.
- Data Architecture and Ontology Development: Oversee the design and implementation of data architecture solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs and scalability. Lead the development of ontologies to standardize data definitions and enable interoperability across systems.
- Project Planning and Execution: Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies to ensure timely and successful project delivery. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies as needed.
- Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration: Establish effective communication channels with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to provide regular updates on project status, gather feedback, and address concerns.
- Foster collaboration and consensus-building among cross-functional teams to drive project alignment and buy-in.
- Quality Assurance and Performance Management: Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data management solutions. Monitor project performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Change Management and Adoption: Develop change management strategies to support the adoption of new data policies, processes, and technologies. Provide training and support to end-users to facilitate smooth transitions and maximize the value of data management initiatives.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on data management or technical support projects.
- Proven expertise in developing and implementing data policies, governance frameworks, and data inventory programs.
- Strong understanding of data architecture principles, including data modeling, schema design, and metadata management.
- Experience with ontology development and knowledge representation techniques preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality results.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is preferred.
Clearance requirement:
- Active Public Trust or the ability to obtain one.
