Project Manager, Level IV

Our partner, an industry leader in the design, manufacturing, and sale of precision optics and optical components for over 80 years, is seeking a Project Manager, Level IV for their operations in Tucson, AZ. This individual will be responsible for managing multiple larger or more complex projects related to optical assemblies. The role involves coordinating with various internal departments and customers, from project initiation to production.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple larger or more complex projects spanning one or multiple business lines
  • Develop and oversee all aspects of project engagement, including planning, communication, budgeting, and risk management
  • Take ownership of the full project life cycle, ensuring successful implementation across global facilities
  • Define project specifications and requirements by collaborating with product line management and customers
  • Monitor project progress, addressing issues, conflicts, and dependencies as needed
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular status reports to stakeholders
  • Contribute to the enhancement of project management practices, tools, and procedures
  • Participate in the training and mentorship of junior Project Managers
  • Adhere to relevant policies, procedures, and regulations

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Extensive understanding of project management principles and methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and timelines
  • Familiarity with assembly models, drawings, and work instructions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project, as well as mechanical and optical design software
  • Minimum of 8 years of previous project management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Optics, Engineering, or a related field

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Comfortable working in an office environment
