Project Manager, Landscape Design

Overview: Responsible for managing design projects, meeting financial, quality and timeframe objectives, and meeting or exceeding client expectations

Responsibilities:   

  • Perform detailed phases of landscape architectural design work for a project of moderate size and complexity (e.g., a single-structure facility requiring occasional interface and collaboration with various architecture and engineering disciplines)  
  • Design site and prepare working drawings and related project documents 
  • Prepare project specifications, compiling and analyzing relevant data 
  • May conduct site and construction inspections for information-gathering purposes, preparing interpretive reports for management disposition 
  • Compile information for proposal preparation
  • Interact independently with other with disciplines
  • Coordinate, write and check specifications 
  • Manage own time on project tasks
  • Review shop drawings 
  • Plan assigned projects and allocate work to ensure timely delivery and effective utilization of resources
  • Work collaboratively with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design or solution
  • Contribute to and advance the development of ideas, and offer alternative solutions to advance the project
  • Review and quality assure project outputs (e.g., drawings, reports, specifications) to ensure they meet or exceed client expectations as well as Arcadis requirements, and they comply with national standards and codes of practice
  • Develop effective working relationships with Project Manager and client and ensure effective communication of progress and changes and the resolution of issues
  • Further develop and maintain a clear understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis and of client businesses to enable personal performance improvement and career development
  • Monitor the performance of team members, identifying and ensuring the resolution of any issues

 

  • Candidates must have University Degree in Architecture or Equivalent from an accredited program
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe CS, and Microsoft OS is a must along with an ability to isolate and define areas of problem-solving and develop different viable solutions
  • 4-8 years of professional experience
  • Massachusetts license preferred 
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong technical knowledge of building construction and thorough understanding of construction documents
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Strong 2D CAD and Revit experience
  • Developing support of construction documentation
  • Knowledge of mixed-used, hospitality projects preferred
  • Ability to make presentations to clients, agencies and to the public
  • Work samples are required for review
