The IT Project Manager is responsible for leading enterprise-wide, cross- functional strategic initiatives. PMs lead a variety of different types of projects including launching new products and services, large- scale application development, systems integration, operational efficiency improvements, process engineering and infrastructure upgrade and deployment. This role is expected to lead all project efforts in accordance with the defined organizational project standards, which align with industry best practices. This is an individual contributor role managing matrixed teams, and requires leadership and influencing capabilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Be accountable for defining, planning, orchestrating and delivering the project
Ensuring results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit
Direct one or more large-scale, complex projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents and matrix partners
Manage all parts for the project life cycle and works with BU IT partners to oversee all phases of a project
Manage scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed on time, cost and quality parameters rigorously,
Validate financial forecasts and provides on-going reconciliation of resources and other project related expenditures
Develop communication plans and interfaces to execute on responsibilities
Represent the project in various project governance and inter-department forums
Chair weekly core team and monthly operating committee meetings to review progress with key constituents
Define and track milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan
Develop the project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related project management artifacts
Contribute to the long term strategic goals of the organization
Other duties as assigned
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Project Managers are responsible for managing regional IT projects.
PMs usually work with Sr Project Manager, Program Manager or Director IT, on different types of IT projects
Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
5 to 7 years of Project Management experience in a multinational company
PMP, PRINCE2, or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification preferred
Focused team player who is comfortable under pressure
Strong presentation skills
Highly organized
Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders, mobilize and motivate team: set direction and approach: resolve conflict; deliver tough messages with grace: execute with limited information and ambiguity
Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization effectively
Solid influencing skills
Sound business and technical acumen
Focused and versatile team player that is comfortable under pressure
Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally
Ability to remove barrier and enable teams to complete their objectives
Demonstrated, applied experience establishing and delivering complex projects
Exemplary core management skills including multiple aspects of PMBOK
Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of Project Management and SDLC methodologies and tools
The salary range for this position is $125,000 -$150,000 / year.
The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting.
