Our Athens office is seeking a skilled Project Manager and Consulting Engineer to join our team, focusing on Transportation Planning and Intelligent Transport Systems within a global project context. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated experience and flexibility in managing a diverse range of projects, ability to perform consulting assignments and foster business growth, coupled with a proactive approach and strong industry knowledge.

Responsibilities:

The successful individual in this position will work across teams and closely with Arcadis’ Senior Management, demonstrating a robust understanding of both technical and business domains.

Project Management

  • Lead project execution for public and private clients, ensuring timely, budget-compliant delivery and adherence to scope.
  • Develop project scope and objectives, manage risks, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Coordinate tasks and communicate with project team members.
  • Monitor progress, report to the client, and manage stakeholder communication.
  • Draft and review project reports and drawings.
  • Proactively address project issues, coordinating with the Project Director and the admin team.
  • Facilitate progress meetings, maintain documentation, and build relationships with key partners.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance procedures and health and safety requirements.

Transportation Consulting

  • Perform traffic and solution-related analysis to assess current and future conditions, identifying critical risks and potential mitigation measures.
  • Develop forecasting models to predict future traffic patterns.
  • Create trip assignment models to optimize the utilization of the transportation network.
  • Conduct impact assessment studies for proposed private and public developments and strategic policies.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders and subcontractors to efficiently manage the expected input and quality of deliverables.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations through reports and presentations to various stakeholders, including client representatives.

Business Development

  • Manage commercial bid development, encompassing technical and financial aspects, and coordinate communication of requirements with internal and external experts during proposal stages.
  • Conduct market and strategic analyses to provide management with actionable insights and data
  • Create concise, well-crafted presentation materials.
  • Participate in meetings and presentations with both existing and prospective clients.
  • Lead promotional activities using suitable communication channels.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with stakeholders and partners to enhance the company’s network and reputation.
  • University degree in Civil, Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Required Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a corporate environment, with a proven track record in Project Management, Transportation Planning/ Engineering, and/ or related fields.
  • Experience with Intelligent Solutions for Transportation and Rail is a strong advantage for this role.
  • Proficient and adaptable in using Microsoft 365 (Sharepoint, OneDrive, PowerPoint, Teams) and project management tools like MS-Project and Atlassian JIRA.
  • Fluent in Greek and English, with excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, able to develop and analyze solutions for complex systems with minimal guidance.
  • Exceptional business acumen and technological insight, understanding customer needs and delivering high quality solutions.
  • Flexible and collaborative, maintaining quality in a fast-paced environment.
