Our client is looking for a full-time Project Manager with 10-15 year's of experience to lead the development and execution for EPC projects, playing a key role in managing the project through close-out.
Significant Project control experience and strong communications skills are needed for this role. The role is based in Houston, with site visits as needed.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Participate in the project proposal and bid process in conjunction with the Sales department
- Negotiate, approve and execute prime contracts, subcontracts, and change orders
- Review, evaluate and implement project specifications, drawing releases and design changes
- Communicate project status, risks, schedule and costs to all internal and external stakeholders
- Develop, review and approve internal and external project reports including project budgeting, project cash flow forecast, and project status reports
- Routinely present project updates to senior management
- Lead multi-discipline project team in support of assigned project
- Direct and oversee the subcontract bid process and prepare detailed scope of work documents for Supplier and Subcontract contracts.
- Develop, implement, execute and oversee Prime Contract and Subcontractor invoicing process
- Direct the securing of applicable project permits
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management or related field is required.
- 10-15 years of experience leading project management of EPC projects/ Project Controls.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Behaviors:
- Understanding an application Project Controls, covering Cost & Schedule management.
- Good scope control with ability to successfully manage change orders with the client
- Understand financial aspects of project controls
- Experience managing stand alone projects
- Experience executing onsite mid size capital projects and programs of mid size capital projects in process plant environment
- Project Governance & Risk
- Ability to negotiate and influence key decision makers
- Work very closely with the Senior VP Growth Projects
- Technical writing skills with an understanding of business management concepts
- Proficient in project management software such as Microsoft Project and Primavera
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Travel to project sites as necessary
