Project Manager, Environment & Land Compliance

Our partner is seeking a Project Manager for Environment & Land Compliance in New York, NY. This role involves overseeing environmental compliance for late-stage development and execution of renewable assets in the east region, including NYISO and related ISO markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop environmental compliance programs for each project covering local, state, and federal permitting requirements.
  • Oversee environmental compliance during renewable project construction, ensuring adherence to permit conditions.
  • Conduct field audits, reporting, and monitoring for construction projects and renewable energy facilities.
  • Review and prepare technical reports, ensuring compliance with permit conditions, procedures, and regulatory agency policies.
  • Collaborate with EPC and contractors to ensure project compliance, providing guidance and interpretation.
  • Manage project budgets, proposals, invoicing, work plans, and execution strategies.
  • Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies on behalf of the project.
  • Present training materials, support stakeholder relations, and mentor junior staff members.
  • Provide support and reporting to health and safety teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience, preferably in the renewables industry.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulatory laws and permitting requirements.
  • Detailed knowledge of erosion and sediment control, stormwater regulations, and environmental engineering.
  • Experience in environmental auditing and regulatory audits.
  • Advanced knowledge of multimedia compliance, including NEPA, USACE, CWA, DOT, SPCC, waste management, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
  • Leadership experience with diverse project teams.
  • Advanced computer skills, including MS Office and geospatial software.
