Rowan is looking for a Construction Project Manager that will be responsible for the successful execution of assigned projects to support our growing portfolio of Studios. The Construction Project Manager will manage and oversee the new construction of our Studios from start to finish. They will be responsible for project schedule, budget and onsite construction activity. The Construction Project Manager will report directly to the Director of Construction.
This is a remote position expected to travel up to 50% of the time.
What you'll do
- Coordinate and manage all phases of new or existing store construction from bid to turnover - inclusive of all construction administration & close out.
- Manage architects, contractors, vendors and retail partners in order to effectively implement and reinforce brand design and ensure quality standards.
- Review architectural plans, MEP drawings, lease exhibits, shop drawings, various vendor proposals, and other documentation related to design development and construction processes
- Manage RFIs and shop drawings approvals, review and approve materials quotes, and level and negotiate GC bids
- Develop requests for owner vendor items, such as millwork, specialty lighting, etc.
- Reporting & administration: Responsible for tracking construction costs and reconciliation
- Maintain and close all compliance documentation and Tenant Allowance submissions.
- Conduct site visits to audit construction progress
- Other: facilities team support for existing studios as needed during the GC warranty period, when required
Experience you bring:
- 6+ years of experience in retail construction; permitting/licensing experience a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects and budgets simultaneously
- B.S./B.A. in Architecture/Construction Management, or other degree with equivalent experience will be considered
- Professional registrations desired, such as CPM, PMP.
- Must be extremely detail oriented and have the ability to work independently
- Ability to communicate and function effectively within a fast paced startup environment
- Solution oriented mindset and ability to recognize and take advantage of opportunities to minimize project costs, maintain construction schedules, and improve the quality of completed facilities
- Must possess excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills; provide legible and articulate communication.
- Proficient working in Google Suite (Calendar, Gmail, Sheets, and Documents)
- Working knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCad and Sketchup is a plus but not required
