Location: Local Off-Site / Remote
Position End Date: Limited Duration, six (6)-months
Salary: $45,000 plus benefits
Travel: approximately 10%


Overview:

The CDC Foundation is seeking a Project Manager who will work under general direction of senior level management supporting the Emerging Infections Program (EIP) at the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH). The Project Manager is responsible for site visits to FluSurv-NET healthcare facilities to promote improved public health surveillance and specimen capture for hospitalized flu cases. The Project Manager will prepare the EIP team for engaging site visits with interdisciplinary public health partners such as laboratory, medical, and IT staff to increase awareness of NMDOH programs and identify collaborative approaches to enhance surveillance activities. The Project Manager will coordinate all aspects of the on-site meetings, including identifying participants, setting dates and locations, facilitating focus group discussions, and capturing high-level notes and action items. 

Remote candidates will be considered; however, New Mexico-based applicants are preferred. 
This will be a limited-duration position up to six (6) months. 


Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree in public health or other related field.
•At least 5-7 years’ experience in project management.
•Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills. 
•Skills and demonstrated experience in project management, cultural awareness, health equity, creative problem solving, and innovation. 
•Strong technical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint), and SharePoint. 
•Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, as well as resource management practices.
•Excellent judgment and decision making, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, and business acumen to accomplish project goals and strategic objectives.
•Ability to manage multiple timelines, thrive in a complex environment, and successfully address competing priorities.
•Possesses a valid, current Driver’s License, automobile insurance, and reliable private transport.


Responsibilities:

•Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting, and stability of project-oriented work efforts.
•Responsible for overall planning, logistics, and coordination of half day on-site meetings at hospitals facilities within New Mexico and Texas.
•Create and develop meeting agendas, slide deck, and meetings notes in addition to sharing all post-/meeting materials in a timely manner with participants.
•Lead pre-meeting virtual practices sessions of presentations and hold regular check-ins with facility points of contact to prepare for on-site meetings.  
•Plan focus group sessions based on identified NM Health surveillance topics as appropriate.
•Establish and implement project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet stakeholder expectations.
•Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.
•Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of stakeholders. 
•Coordinate communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget, risk, and resources of the work effort being managed.
•Maintain collegial, productive relationships with colleagues and internal/external public health partners. 
•Ensure clear communication of surveillance program activities including policies and procedures to multidisciplinary and non-technical audiences.


Special Notes: 

This role is involved in a dynamic public health program. As such, roles and responsibilities are subject to change as situations evolve. Roles and responsibilities listed above may be expanded upon or updated to match priorities and needs, once written approval is received by both the CDC Foundation and the New Mexico Department of Health in order to best support the state of New Mexico in their public health programming.

This position is currently a Local Offsite / Remote position. CDC Foundation retains the right to make adjustments to this as required. 

This position requires the regular operation of a motor vehicle during the course and scope of employment as an essential function of the job. As such, Employees in this position must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in their state of residence, must self-report motor vehicle violations/convictions, and must provide proof of acceptable insurance coverage with mandatory minimum coverages as set forth within the Driver Safety Motor Vehicle Policy (“Policy”).
