Digital Catapult, the UK’s authority on advanced digital technology, is seeking a Project Manager to join our Delivery team. In this role, you will be responsible for the project management and delivery of the Business Systems Transformation Programme, in which we are replacing our existing Finance, Programme/Project/Resource Management and HR systems with a fully integrated system. WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Along with the Head of OPMO, Technology and Business representatives, lead the planning and develop coherent project strategy, structure (workstreams and tasks), and resourcing plans. Define realistic goals, milestones and targets that will lead to the required outcomes and impact. Ensure that tasks on the project are clearly defined and agreed with internal and external stakeholders
- Initiate and maintain all project artefacts such as budgets, risks and issues logs, project plans, and progress reports
- Set priorities and resolve risks, issues and dependencies as required.
- Report on progress as needed through regular status updates using appropriate documentation and presentation
- Initiate and run regular team meetings (e.g. stand ups), update sessions and workshops as needed
- Successfully build and manage relationships both internally and externally.
- Use the approved project delivery governance processes and policies to enable project oversight and control
- Manage suppliers and 3rd party vendors ensuring deliverables are delivered on time, budget and quality. This will include (from time to time) evaluation of prospective suppliers regarding production capability & quality management.
- Evaluate the progress of the project on a regular basis, taking action to ensure that project goals are achieved, and that project outcomes and impact are maximised and success stories are widely shared.
- Work closely with the PMO on processes, reporting, and communication, ensuring that policies and best practices are followed.
- Ensure suitable knowledge transfer at both during and at end of the project or the engagement with Digital Catapult.
Requirements
The successful candidate will:
- Exhibit calm, decisive and strong leadership
- Have a track record of successfully delivering Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation projects such as SAP, MS Dynamics, Oracle, etc., from initiation to closure
- Have experience of working with vendors, partners and consultants to implement ERP systems
- Have managed the definition and implementation of change management strategies to ensure the successful transition to new systems and processes
- Have managed the development of test strategies and plans. Coordinating the test phases of ERP projects including unit, system, integration and user acceptance testing.
- Be able to demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills at senior levels
- Take a structured and detailed approach to planning and delivery
- Deliver accurate reporting including to senior leadership teams
- Demonstrate proactive management of risks, issues and dependencies.
- Ensure that the programme delivers impact and the successful realisation of project benefits.
