Position Summary
PMA is seeking a motivated Project Manager with 5-10 years of experience to assist in managing the construction of a large-scale airline catering operations facility. As an integral member of the project team, the Project Manager will work closely with the Senior Project Manager to support the engineering, procurement, and construction management processes. This role is ideal for someone who has experience supporting complex construction projects, ideally within aviation or industrial facilities, and has a strong understanding of project lifecycle management from preconstruction to final delivery.
Responsibilities include:
- Project Support & Coordination:
- Assist the Senior Project Manager in all phases of project management, including planning, procurement, design review, and cost control.
- Help in managing the project schedule, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met.
- Serve as a liaison between the Senior Project Manager, contractors, engineers, architects, and stakeholders.
- Support the Senior Project Manager in implementing and monitoring risk management strategies to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Assist in reviewing bid reviews, design plans, and procurement packages for approval.
- Construction Oversight Support:
- Aid in overseeing daily construction activities to ensure compliance with QA/QC standards and operational requirements.
- Assist in the coordination of construction logistics, including procurement of materials and managing subcontractor activities.
- Help facilitate progress meetings and prepare weekly reports for senior management.
- Support the enforcement of safety standards and assist with managing construction worksite safety inspections.
- Stakeholder & Communication Support:
- Assist in managing stakeholder communication, including coordinating with key stakeholders, end-users, and senior management to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Help prepare and communicate project updates, schedules, and changes to stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Budget & Cost Management Support:
- Assist in developing and managing the project budget, tracking costs, and providing financial analysis to the Senior Project Manager.
- Support the Senior Project Manager in approving change orders and maintaining financial discipline across the project.
- Regulatory Compliance Assistance:
- Help ensure all project activities comply with aviation and safety regulations, local building codes, environmental regulations, and zoning requirements.
- Assist in coordinating with regulatory bodies such as the FAA to ensure compliance.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field required.
- 5-10 years of experience in construction management or project management roles, preferably with large-scale industrial or aviation-related facilities required.
- Experience supporting the full project lifecycle, from preconstruction to commissioning required.
- Knowledge of software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore, and familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) required.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment required.
- Experience with complex systems like HVAC, refrigeration, or food production facilities preferred.
- Understanding of aviation or industrial regulatory compliance processes preferred.
- Familiarity with ORAT (Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer) processes is a plus.
Additional Requirements
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
