Position Summary
PMA is currently seeking a Project Manager for an exclusive assignment to support our client’s projects related to building facilities, including new construction and renovations, as part of the Facilities Maintenance Organization in the NJ area.
In this role, you will oversee and coordinate all activities related to the successful completion of assigned projects from beginning to end, including but not limited to design engineering, risk, and contingency planning (as required), permitting, procurement, outreach, and building. You will supervise engineering and construction firms working on various new and renovation projects managed by Facilities Maintenance throughout the state, including the General Office.
This is a hybrid position with regular travel to construction sites required.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee the complete lifecycle management of multiple large, cross-functional projects from the time of assignment through commissioning, closeout, and turnaround.
- Ensure project objectives are successfully achieved safely, environmentally compliant, and within scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
- Maintain and monitor project agreements, costs, plans, and schedules.
- Conduct project reviews, resolve issues, and secure engagement from required associates and groups to ensure the assigned projects are professionally and comprehensively planned and executed.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or equivalent experience required.
- 15+ years of experience working as part of a project team on a large civil or electrical infrastructure design and/or construction project required.
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills in successfully managing project teams and conducting review meetings with clients and project stakeholders required.
- Experience reviewing and approving engineering scopes and proposals, facilitating project initiation process, and conducting due diligence required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read and understand plans and specifications required.
- Exceptional ability to remain organized and handle multiple action items simultaneously required.
- Demonstrated capability in using MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Primavera P6 or similar software required.
Additional Requirements
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
