In 2021, Samsung announced a new facility in Taylor, Texas, where it plans to invest a minimum $17 billion in the build-out. The site spans 1,200+ acres and the first phase of development will have 4.7 million square feet of floor space consisting of a cluster of semiconductor manufacturing buildings such as a fab, office, parking garage, central utility building, and special utility supply facilities. The Taylor facility will boost the production of semiconductor solutions that will power next-generation technologies in areas like 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) and high performance computing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Job Summary/Overview:

This is a growth-oriented position within the EHS department Cost Team, which includes the EHS Project Engineering group. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the department's financial processes and have a strong understanding of SAS financial processes and experience in implementing processes to accommodate growth. The EHS Finance position requires a strong analytical background to analyze and consolidate financial results for internal reporting. The candidate will have experience in monthly closing, annual budgeting (capital and expense), and associated financial analysis.

Specific Job Duties:

• Perform financial forecasting, annual business plan and rolling plan, variance analysis of actual versus forecast and reconciliation of internal accounts to assess strategic decision alternatives.
• Coordinate annual department expense budget development and submission process.
• Develop improved processes for administering and tracking EHS budget that are right-sized for department growth as Taylor facilities come on line.
• Work closely with EHS Project Engineering for capital approvals and project controls.
• Ensures department budget goals are met by creating expense forecasting models, managing costs and regularly reporting department KPIs.
• Track department Cost Savings projects, ensuring accurate entries and updates in systems.
• Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with internal finance, accounting and procurement departments to resolve conflict and ensure successful administration of EHS Capital and Expense budgets.
• Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude, maintaining composure under pressure.
• Contribute subject matter expertise to support cross-functional collaboration and teamwork; occasionally deliver training to EHS department personnel.
• Exercises discretion and integrity with highly confidential and sensitive information.
• Solicits and applies feedback to improve quality and service.

Skills and Qualifications:

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting or related field
• 2+ years’ experience in financial analysis or budget management

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools

• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with particular emphasis on spreadsheet/database applications (advanced MS Excel)
• Experience with integrated accounting systems such as SAP
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Aptitude for documentation and data analysis
• Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.
• Communication skills, verbal and written.
• Organizational skills
• Ability to learn and use a variety of software, tools and systems necessary to meet business needs.
• Knowledge of administrative, office and general accounting procedures and standards.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.
