At Axiom Exergy, we design and build game-changing energy storage systems for the commercial refrigeration industry. Successfully installing these systems requires a highly interdisciplinary understanding of refrigeration systems, modern construction practices, permitting, contractor management, and customer relations. We're looking for a cross-functional engineering project manager who is ready to get their hands dirty, wants to own the entire deployment process end-to-end, is as passionate about energy storage as we are, and will do whatever it takes to get our products to market!
What You'll Do
You will work directly with the President, CTO, VP of Engineering, and Senior Product Engineer on the following strategic initiatives:
- Analyze and assess target sites for system installation.
- Perform operational calculations to optimize the system to the site.
- Lead the building permitting process by managing a team of engineering consultants and interacting with the local permitting authority.
- Generate site installation documentation, including technical diagrams, detailed work packages, and best practices.
- Negotiate construction contracts and manage installation contractors.
- Orchestrate on-site team operations, including Refrigeration Battery Measurement and Verification, and coordinate team logistics.
- Monitor and quality control the installation process.
- Interact directly with the customer as the Axiom Exergy main point of contact.
- Provide technical feedback to the design team on the installation, commissioning, and operation of field units to directly influence next-generation system design.
- Do anything else necessary to help!
Who You Are
- B.S. in a technical discipline and/or a strong technical foundation. Engineering is preferred. PMP a plus.
- 2+ years industry experience in engineering, construction, refrigeration, or similar commercial/industrial environments. Engineering or construction project management highly preferred.
- Strong experience in project management methodologies (Waterfall, CPM/CCPM, SDLC, Agile, or similar) preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD highly preferred.
- Previous experience with vapor compression and/or hydraulic equipment, including compressors, pumps, pressure vessels, piping standards, etc a plus.
- An enthusiastic self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, provides creative solutions to challenging problems, is extremely detail-oriented, and is an excellent verbal and written communicator.
- A broad performer who bridges engineering, technical project management, contracting, and customer relations.
- Willing to put in the effort it takes to get this energy storage startup off the ground!
The Fine Print
- This position is flexible. We can make it an internship / co-op, or standard full-time employment. Let us know what works for you!
