SkyGrid, a Boeing, Avathon Company, exists to open the sky for autonomous flight. Based in Austin, Texas, SkyGrid builds ground based high-assurance third-party services to enable the safe operations and airspace integration of highly automated and autonomous aircraft. SkyGrid also acts as a key operational nexus for advanced air mobility, integrating and managing data, infrastructure, access, and traffic to support seamless and efficient air traffic services.     The SkyGrid team is looking for a Project Engineer with expertise in project management and Jira configuration. In this role, you will be responsible for customizing and enforcing the high-level Program Plan to ensure alignment across all engineering teams at SkyGrid. You will leverage Jira and MS Project to track project progress, manage resources, and streamline communication. Your efforts will focus on maintaining smooth project execution, identifying potential risks, and ensuring timely delivery of project milestones. This position reports directly to the Director of Engineering and plays a key role in ensuring the engineering teams are aligned with organizational objectives and timelines  Performance Objectives:

Ensure cross-team alignment by creating and managing Jira Advanced Roadmaps and dashboards, in accordance with leadership direction. You will be responsible for configuring and maintaining these tools to provide clear visibility into project timelines, dependencies, and progress, ensuring that all teams are on track and aligned with organizational goals. Your work will help leadership monitor performance, identify potential issues, and support informed decision-making. 

Maintain alignment across teams through management of the Jira workspace 

Responsibilities:

Create and manage Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) at different levels of the program, with complex dependencies across the enterprise. 

Create and manage Jira advanced roadmaps (plans). 

Generate dashboards for the reporting of project status and critical path metrics to leadership 

Create and manage Jira workflows. 

Educate, train, and enforce users for approved usage of Jira. 

Create custom schemes within Jira. 

Maintain and simplify corporate Jira workspace. 

User management. 

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in Project Management involving software development activities. 

Experience with creation and tracking of plans using MS Project. 

Experience managing Jira and the Atlassian suite. 

Experience with Jira advanced roadmaps (plans). 

Strong understanding of software development workflows and methodologies. 

Experience with cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). 

Strong communication skills. 

Project management experience is essential. 

Ability to mediate and help achieve common ground. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. 

CAPM / PMP certifications. 

Experience as a SCRUM Master or Product Owner. 

Atlassian Certified Associate or Atlassian Certified Professional certifications. 

Possess extensive Jira administration expertise. 

Experience with JQL (Jira Query Language). 

Demonstrated prior experience using SCRUM methodologies.
