Responsibilities
- Lead and support Project Delivery and Operations for Australia, bringing an empowering approach from project inception and contract development to successful handover to Services. Collaborate closely with functional teams across APAC, promoting teamwork and shared goals.
- Oversee resource planning for both immediate and long-term needs, ensuring high-quality, safe, and carefully managed project installations for comprehensive EPC wrap. This includes fostering leadership growth, team building, and continuously improving organizational practices across Australia.
- Oversee the financial and operational health of all Fluence projects in Australia, ensuring projects are delivered safely, to code, on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of our customers, and ensuring the accuracy of our internal financial and operational forecasts. Support continuous improvement through an ISO 9001-certified quality program.
- Build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, emphasizing a customer-focused communication style that nurtures transparency, understanding and collaboration.
- Be a proactive decision-maker and provide guidance to the Australian team, working closely with cross-functional teams across APAC to achieve project milestones.
- Engage collaboratively with customers, suppliers, partners, sales, and senior management to ensure project deliverables are met across the full project life cycle and appropriate risk management practices are in place
- Participate in business improvement projects, sharing updates and communicating project plans with the battery storage team to foster a shared understanding of goals.
- Partner with Sales in project development and tendering, ensuring schedules align with procurement, project execution and customer needs.
- Champion risk management practices, learning from each project to strengthen processes and encourage continuous improvement.
- Uphold compliance with Fluence’s Delegation of Authority, Standards of Governance, and support audits and corrective actions for the Australian business.
Requirements
- Degree as a state-certified technical engineer and over 10 years’ experience in renewable energy, with at least 5 years as a Project Director.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams, creating an inclusive environment that supports delivery excellence and the growth of complex projects.
- Experience in the renewable sector is highly valued, but not essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to empower and inspire others, foster a positive team dynamic, and handle challenges with a solutions-focused approach.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and organizational skills, enabling clarity and consistency.
- Experience delivering large scale infrastructure projects
- Experience managing project teams, with a commitment to building high-performing organizations and fostering long-term relationships.
- Deep knowledge of project management, construction management, engineering, electrical systems, procurement, and supply contracts, with a passion for mentoring and guiding teams toward high performance.
- A collaborative team player who encourages open communication and strengthens mutual understanding across diverse and multicultural teams.
- Partner with the Australian Leadership Team to align operational activities with strategic objectives.
- Skilled at balancing priorities across business units to support organizational goals.
- Self-driven, with the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated success delivering large scale infrastructure projects, with experience in project management, contract adherence and negotiation, sub-contractor management, schedule development and budget management.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Project).
- An excellent communicator and relationship builder, who earns trust and respect from clients, internal teams, and external partners alike.
