Position Summary
PMA is currently seeking a project controls scheduler to support PMA’s emerging Rhode Island office/market and existing Massachusetts projects. The successful candidate(s) will be required to attend in-person project meetings on-site in Providence, Rhode Island a minimum of once a week. Responsibilities include overall project controls activities, not limited to attending meetings with the clients and project team, facilitating discussions at meetings, generating meeting minutes, analyzing project schedules, developing, and preparing progress reports/executive summaries, and presentations, and performing other duties required to support the clients and projects. This is a full-time position.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field required.
- 5+ years of related experience working as part of a project team. Experience working in higher education is advantageous.
- Experience in project design and construction elements strongly preferred.
- Availability to work full time, Monday through Friday, required.
- Access to personal transportation as on-site meetings are required to be attended (in-person) on a weekly basis (in Providence Rhode Island).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read and understand plans and specifications, as well as communicate status of project and issues to stakeholders and outside clients, required.
- Exceptional ability to remain organized and handle multiple action items simultaneously required.
- Proficiency in using MS Office (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and MS Project software preferred.
Additional Requirements
Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.
Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
