Innovative is looking for a Project Accountant who is responsible for managing various aspects of invoicing, collections, financial reporting, and project accounting. You will oversee the Sage Intacct AR Automation module for invoicing and collections, communicate with customers on payment matters, and ensure the timely processing of invoices. You will also generate regular financial reports, assist in project forecasting, and collaborate with the operations team to maintain accurate project data.
Responsibilities:
Invoicing/Collections
· Manage Sage Intacct AR Automation module used for invoicing, customer collections and communication.
· Communicate with customers regarding late payments; ensure notices are sent out timely.
· Monitor all system invoice and payment transactions; apply or adjust manually as needed.
· Ensuring a steady cash flow by auditing weekly invoices list and approving for processing in a timely manner.
· Respond to requests from customers; work with colleagues to resolve.
· Preparing weekly pre-billing reports for project managers to review.
· Create and review customer payment methods mix and encourage use of customer portal and automated payment offerings.
Financial reporting
· Publish regular reports for leadership on current AR Aging, DSO, other KPIs.
· Monthly reporting on YTD Revenue, Revenue by State, Top 10 and more.
· Cash receipts’ monthly goal, analysis and projection reporting.
Project Accounting
· Share responsibility for the preparation of daily revenue forecast reporting identifying all outstanding items required for correct backlog reporting.
· Participate in the review of new customer contracts/SOWs; add new projects in project software (Datto)
· Track and review New Customer Intake Form; new customer set up in Sage Intacct.
· Share responsibility for daily maintenance of project changes for amounts, milestones, billing due dates, funding components; comparison to other company records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
· Collaborate with operations team leaders to ensure that workplans are and milestone changes or other components are current and accurate.
· Perform calculation for monthly revenue for all types of revenue: milestone, services, software/hardware sales, and other.
· Assist with tracking partner funding available for projects.
· Close out project in Datto upon project completion
· Prepare and maintain process documentation and training for coverage during absences.
· Compile information for external auditors, as required.
· Support additional department projects as requested.

What experience you’ll need:
· 3-5 years' experience as a project accountant, or similar.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
· Proficiency with Sage Intact a plus
· Intermediate Excel skills required.
· Experience with professional services accounting preferred.
· Experience with B2B collections.
· Excellent communication skills toward effective collaboration and client services.
