The role:
We are looking for a Project Lead to ensure the delivery of a large, operational, construction and infrastructure project in Ukraine. You will be responsible for overseeing all planning, coordination, and management of all phases of the project whilst ensuring that all quality standards and regulatory requirements are met. This role involves managing multiple construction and infrastructure projects, coordinating with various stakeholders, and implementing robust quality assurance processes to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Responsibilities/ deliverables:
These are the key things that you are responsible for delivering within your role. There will be activities and tasks in addition to this list that are expected from you but the majority of your time will be:
- Provide comprehensive technical advice to all stakeholders, internal and external regarding engineering, construction and infrastructure projects, systems, and processes. Establishing project objectives, scope and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and ensuring alignment with client requirements.
- Evaluate client needs and project feasibility by conducting thorough assessments of existing systems, technologies, and processes. Identify opportunities for optimisation and improvement.
- Design and develop engineering solutions that align with client objectives, national legislation and industry best practices. Oversee the creation of detailed project plans, specifications, and design documents as required.
- Overseeing project schedules, budgets and resource allocations to ensure the project is delivered to time, cost and quality.
- Overseeing processes with architects, engineers, contractors and subcontractors to monitor construction progress, resolve issues and ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Support processes to secure ‘emergent’ works.
- Oversee project budgeting and cost control and manage change orders to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Conducting regular site inspections to assess project progress, identify risks, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with project team members and stakeholders to provide project updates, address concerns and foster strong working relationships.
Requirements
You:
You will have previous experience:
- Proven experience as an Engineer, preferably with a background in consulting, project management, or a related field.
- Experience of delivering construction and / or infrastructure projects, ideally with UK government
- In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to approach challenges creatively and logically.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software, tools, and technologies.
- Demonstrated project management abilities, including the capacity to prioritise tasks, manage timelines, and deliver results within budget.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

- This role ideally is a 50/50 split between the UK and Ukraine but we are open to considering other options. the minimum requirement is for 50% of the time in-country.
