GroupM | Programmatic Trading Manager
Overview of the role 
Programmatic Trading Manager is committed to delivering excellence in campaign activation and is responsible for providing day to day leadership of their campaigns to deliver our core promise to our clients: Business outcomes through programmatic media.

1) Activation Excellence & Delivery 
  • Own the full end-to-end campaign management including set up, tagging, optimization, delivery, reporting, troubleshooting and end of month/end of campaign billing and reconciliation process. 
  • Effectively manage the activation of your accounts and campaigns ensuring timely, ongoing optimization for campaign delivery, performance to KPIs and Xaxis profitability. Proactively look for tactical and strategic optimization opportunities for client growth 
  • Take ownership of applying campaign best practice and processes. Contribute to the development of those best practices. 
  • Take ownership of testing opportunities for your campaigns including planning, execution and monitoring. 
  • Provide in-depth campaign insights and optimization recommendations for campaign improvement 
  • Proactively develop your knowledge of the programmatic landscape, latest tech platforms, vendors and suppliers. 
2) Processes & Automation 
  • Develop and identify gaps/processes/tools to improve campaign performance and efficiency 
  • Work closely with technology providers to manage any issues in workflow process 
  • Contribute towards the continuous adoption of process, best practices and automation so as to drive quality, efficiency and accuracy across all campaigns. 
  • Champion the use of Xaxis’s proprietary AI platforms to help deliver client outcomes 
3) Effective ways of working 
  • Attend internal meetings to give campaign updates, project updates and discuss challenges and solutions with other team members 
  • Ability to break down complex technical information into understandable language for stakeholders, to have maximum impact and influence 
  • Work with Engagement team, Managing Director and Xaxis APAC teams to use data, AI and analytics to drive campaign performance. 
  • Be involved with strategic planning with the Engagement team, Managing Director and agencies to grow key accounts’ businesses from the trading perspective 
  • Build strong working relationships with others in the Trading and Operations community at GroupM Japan and Xaxis APAC 
  • Become a trusted advisor and expert within the programmatic trading field 
  • Suggest potential solutions based upon operational and trading knowledge such as brand safety, supply or AI. Drive the resulting projects as confirmed with the Xaxis Japan Managing Director  
4) Team management 
  • Oversee junior traders to ensure accuracy of campaign set up, optimization and performance and advising them on correct actions to take 
    • Bridge the gap between sales (Engagement) and Trading 
  • Manage personal development of junior traders by setting goals, giving feedback, providing or requesting training 
 What you will need 
  • Good understanding of local and global programmatic tech platforms e.g. DSPs, SSPs, key brand safety suppliers 
  • Hands on experience in programmatic trading, campaign implementation, optimization and reporting 
  • Excellent organisation skills 
  • High level of attention to detail 
  • Problem solving skills and desire to resolve issues with a can-do attitude 
  • Strong and effective communication across all levels 
  • Willingness to learn and try new strategies, technology, channels and approaches in programmatic media 
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment - harvest vast amounts of information, news, data, and research and distill the most important/relevant information for your agency team and their clients.
