Access Services is seeking an experienced, professional Program Specialist who will be the supervisor for our Life Day Program in Easton, PA. As Program Specialist, you will have the opportunity to lead our day program for adults with developmental disabilities and Autism in a creative and supportive environment. The program specialist coordinates the daily schedule, community outings, and social activities for individuals in the day program. They are responsible for supervising the support staff and interacting with both internal and external team members.  

  • Work schedule: 8 am to 4 pm - Monday through Friday at our Easton day program site. Times may adjust for meetings occurring before or after program ends.  

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Ensure the highest quality of care to individuals in helping them meet their needs.  
  • Organize, oversee and coordinate daily activities in relation to individual outcomes for those who participate in the Life program.  
  • Direct and supervise the daily work activities of the direct support professionals and team lead in the program.  
  • Plan and provide prevocational training, social and recreational opportunities to adults with developmental disabilities.  
  • Facilitate the consumer intake process.  
  • Interview, hire, and train direct support professionals.  
  • Oversee the completion of all documentation to substantiate billing as set forth by ODP and federal guidelines.  
  • Ensure all staff complete necessary training in person-centered planning, ISP instruction, behavior interventions and all other skills needed  
  • Conduct regular individual and group supervision and evaluation  
  • Oversee that outcomes identified in each individual’s ISP are met  
  • Help ensure quality of services and files are maintained in accordance with Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) and Chapter 2380 and 2390 regulations.  
  • Provide direct care when required due to staffing needs 

 

Requirements

General Requirements: 

Candidates must meet all qualifying and ongoing job criteria including background checks, physical examination results, and clearances. 

  • A valid driver's license, and access to a reliable vehicle during work hours. 
  • A U.S. driver’s license for at least two years (not including time with a permit). 
  • Must be listed as a driver on a valid auto insurance policy. 
  • Ability to drive both your personal vehicle and a company-provided vehicle during work hours. 
  • Note, upon hire, we will provide training and certifications in first Aid, CPR, Medication Administration, and Community Participation Supports for DSP. 

Education Requirements: 

  • Associate’s degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of work experience working directly with persons with disabilities OR 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of work experience working directly with persons with disabilities OR 
  •  Master’s degree or above from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of work experience working directly with persons with disabilities.  

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:  

  • Knowledge of principles and methods of habilitation, behavior management, safety techniques and programming planning principles.  
  • Knowledge of person-centered planning and the ability to help individuals meet their plan of care objectives.  
  • Knowledge of pertinent community resources and facilities.  
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills.  
  • Proficiency in, or ability to learn and use, workplace applications, platforms and technologies.  

Essential Working Conditions/Physical Demands: Work in program sites and the community routinely providing direct care and support with individual(s). Stand, sit or run by self, or to provide proper care and supervision with an individual. Able to move and stay with an individual to keep them safe. Able to assist an individual who has fallen, regardless of weight or size. Walk, climb stairs by self, or to provide direct care ensuring individual’s safety.

Compensation: This is a full-time, salaried position starting at $42,000 annually, with adjustments made for education and experience; plus competitive benefits package.
