Program/Project Assistant - Dangote Sugar Refinery (Abuja)

The Program Assistant will support the efficient execution of the Backward Integration Program for the Sugar Refinery. This role involves managing communications, coordinating program activities, and providing administrative support to the Head of the Unit. The ideal candidate will act as a liaison between the unit and other stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and effective program management.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and follow up on the communication plan for the program.
  • Act as the focal point for all external communications and maintain effective liaison with other business units.
  • Attend program meetings, take detailed minutes of meetings (MOM), and follow up on action items.
  • Ensure all meeting documents are prepared and distributed promptly.
  • Control and organize emails and other communications for the Head of the Unit.
  • Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and send reminders for upcoming meetings and deadlines.
  • Draft, proofread, and distribute letters, reports, presentations, and other documents.
  • Ensure documents are well-formatted, error-free, and adhere to company standards.
  • Maintain program records, track project timelines, and ensure compliance with internal policies.
  • Provide logistical support for events, workshops, and trainings related to the program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Business Management, or a related field. An MBA or additional certifications in program management would be an advantage.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in program management, office management, or administrative support at a senior level, preferably in the manufacturing or sugar industry.

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Understanding of project management principles is an advantage.
  • Proactive and resourceful, with a strong ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A collaborative mindset, with a willingness to support team members and engage with various stakeholders.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
