The purpose of the Support Team Assisted Response (STAR) Program initial response van is to respond to low-risk behavioral health calls with an EMT/Paramedic and Behavioral Health Clinician to de-escalate and connect residents in distress with appropriate services, including wraparound services through the STAR community coalition following encounters with a STAR van. STAR vans provide a broad range of no-cost services such as providing information and referrals, crisis intervention, counseling, transportation, and social service needs. This role responds to Mental Health related 911 calls.
The objectives of the STAR Program are to:
NEW HIRE SALARY RANGE: $80,000 - $100,000/year - based on experience
POSITION SUMMARY: This position oversees the day-to-day operations at the STAR program. It provides clinical and administrative supervision to a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, peer specialists and administrative staff to ensure the program operates efficiently and within BHA guidelines. The Program Manager coordinates team functions and collaborates with community partners to enhance the quality of treatment people we serve receive at the STAR Program They help operate within established budgetary guidelines.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Ensure accuracy, quality and efficiency standards are met with regards to medical records standards for people we serve.
· Advocate appropriate services for consumers.
· Identify, implement and monitor customer service standards to ensure team is meeting internal and external customer needs and perform all services in a professional manner.
· Participate in the development of long and short term goals for the team that are consistent with program and organizational goals.
· Train and evaluate clinical and administrative support staff to maintain quality within the team, encourage growth and development of staff while instilling awareness of cultural diversity.
· Complete performance evaluations timely and provide appropriate coaching and counseling to ensure all employees perform at satisfactory levels, identify when discipline is appropriate.
· Participate in the selection process for internal and external candidates for clinical and support positions.
· Conduct timely audits to ensure compliance with WellPower policies, BHA, Signal and other regulatory policies regarding clinical care and documentation. Revise and update internal policies.
· Assist with the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting needs of the team. Take corrective action as needed to ensure compliance of established budget.
· Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing.
· Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION: LCSW, LPC required, Masters + LAC preferred. Colorado licensure must be valid and in good standing.
EXPERIENCE: Four years in mental health or human services field; 2+ years supervisory experience required. Trauma informed treatment, addiction treatment and sound clinical ability.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
· Knowledge or ability to learn and practice trauma informed principles and practices.
· Solid customer and community relations and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to prepare clear and concise written memos, letters and reports of a complex nature.
· Ability to supervise a multi-disciplinary staff: Clinical and Administrative.
· Ability to chart, document, review and present clinical cases to various audiences.
· Demonstrated ability to understand different cultural needs of people we serve and communicate effectively.
· Solid knowledge of clinical supervision and care coordination.
· Ability to accurately diagnose and assess people we serve in crisis and non-crisis situations.
· Solid knowledge of management applications as they relate to the mental health environment.
· Ability to create a treatment and/or outcome plan with measurable results. Includes transition and discharge planning.
· Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with internal and external customers.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Clinical and Administrative staff.
MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Computers, calculators, fax machines, copiers, telephone and a variety of other office/clerical equipment.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office and/or clinical equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS: May require occasional evening or weekend hours
