Job Summary

 

This position is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of FAA scheduling systems and staffing models. Operating within the Resource Optimization Division (ALA-100), this role ensures that software systems and models align with the FAA’s safety, operational, and budgetary priorities. ALA-100’s tools and models provide robust frameworks for workforce scheduling, workload analysis, and financial resource allocation, driving efficiency and strategic workforce management.

 

Years of Relevant Experience

 

The position requires 15+ equivalent years of experience in government software management.  Specific experience with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is required.  A Master’s degree or Ph.D. may count for additional years of experience.

 

 

Essential Job Functions

Individuals will assist in the efficient and effective operation of the program office, the individual’s activities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate workforce models development/reviews and approvals
  • Maintain/administer multiple SharePoint sites
  • Prepare/conduct all aspects of Governance meetings

·       Develop and maintain staffing standards and workload assessments for FAA

·       Collaborate on various ad-hoc projects to modernize workforce modeling, operational efficiency, cost improvements

·       Cloud application development and maintenance support

·       Authorization and cybersecurity support

·       Provides Program Management support for FAA

  • Manage the execution of the FAA’s scheduling software and staffing model platforms following PMBOK guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain project management plans, including deliverable, risk, quality, and communication management plans.
  • Facilitate the FAA’s cloud migration efforts, ensuring the integration of new solutions into existing systems.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, addressing risks and ensuring compliance with FAA standards.
  • Provide executive support for program initiatives, ensuring alignment with FAA’s strategic goals.

 

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering, Math, Operations Research, or Finance.  Master’s degree a plus.

 

Skills Required

·       High level of proficiency with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project and other MS Office Products.

·       Strong analytical background and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills Desired

·       Knowledge of FAA NAS systems, investment analysis, solution development & implementation

·       Experience managing client relationships
