The Axon business is growing rapidly and we are looking for a dedicated and proven Project Manager to join our Virtual & Augmented Reality team.

As a Program Manager for the Axon VR & AR Product team, you will work with VR and traditional technologies to plan, organize, test, and build the platform that supports all of Axon’s VR and AR experiences. The platform that you will work to create will define the future of augmented and virtual reality use in Public Safety applications. We see leveraging the technology for training applications to be the first stop on our journey of possibilities.

You will join an interdisciplinary team that is tackling the biggest challenges in public safety training head-on, including immersive VR-based de-escalation training to help officers engage with the communities they serve with greater awareness and safety. We seek to revolutionize how training is implemented within public safety and we seek to accomplish this while abiding to the following guiding principles:

  1. Build AR and VR Solutions for Social Good: With our mission to Protect Life, we develop AR & VR solutions that benefit both law enforcement and the community, while addressing key issues in society.
  2. Empower Agencies with Data: Deliver ongoing data and analysis that provide agencies with key insights that enable them to make decisions that result in building better, more efficient, and positive programs.
  3. Develop an Active and Diverse Virtual Platform: Leverage the latest in AR & VR technologies to create a robust portfolio of solutions and the highest-quality content, that enable users to be more effective in their roles and manage the challenges of 21st century public safety.

Responsibilities

  • Support VR Initiatives: Assist in the development and implementation of programs and processes that help the VR team deliver high quality products to our customers.
  • Project Management: Support the planning and execution of VR-related projects, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to ongoing process improvements that enhance the efficiency and velocity of delivering VR Products.
  • Communication: Help communicate Product operations initiatives, progress, and updates across the organization, reinforcing accountability and sharing recommendations.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with Design, Art, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Professional Services, Customer Success, and other key stakeholders to support VR initiatives.
  • Balance a mix of strategic, programmatic, and operational responsibilities to optimize new product cost, quality, and time to market.
  • Partner closely with Product Management and cross-functional leaders to successfully deliver on objectives of the product domain.
  • Understand product specifications and requirements to support the deployment of new features and products to customers, collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to develop go-to-market plans and roadmaps for upcoming features and products (to include Alpha and Beta).
  • Regular written and verbal communication to Leadership.
  • Travel approximately 10% to 15%

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of project management or related experience.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, while keeping a level-headed mind.
  • Strong written/verbal communication, interpersonal, & organizational skills.
  • Self starter with initiative.
  • Ability to break down ambiguity into actionable plans.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to be flexible to last-minute changes in direction.
  • Results-oriented with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent collaborative skills with the ability to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Technical/creative mind with ability to recommend and implement improvements, while solving problems independently.
  • Ability to forecast needs, build schedules, communicate with accuracy, and meet deadlines.
  • Big-picture thinker with a Be Obsessed and Join Forces mindset, with a passion for technology and Public Safety.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience in software or operations project management.
  • General knowledge of VR equipment and software ecosystem.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 75,803 in the lowest geographic market and USD 121,284 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
