Program Manager - Data Analytics

As a Project and Scrum Manager in the Business Analytics team, you will be responsible for leading and managing projects aimed at ensuring effective governance and oversight of our enterprise analytics reporting projects.  This includes:

  • Facilitating prioritization and  ingestion processes related to new data analytics projects.  Process design and continuous improvement of the processes over time.
  • Overall responsibility for department Agile development process and scrum coaching of bi-weekly sprints.  This is currently a nascent process and this position will require experience and leadership in developing the full extent of these processes
  • Hands on management of Atlan data governance platform.

The ideal candidate will be a domain expert in functional data analysis and Scrum processes and have some experience with Atlan platform. The candidate should also be an excellent communicator, and have an agile mindset.  Collaborating, building influence in cross-functional partnerships, and developing relationships across the organization a is an essential part of this role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Identify and implement tools and processes to improve and mature processes, drive efficiency, and implement best practices in Agile development.
  • Evaluate and implement technology solutions that support the use of Scrum based development and the measurement of Scrum efficiency.
  • Run recurring scrum stand-ups, grooming sprints, development sprints and retrospectives
  • Support development ingestion, requirements management and development and test of BAA charter for producing reports and interactive dashboards.

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in some form of Data Engineering/Science or related field. 
  • 10 years relevant experience in data management, Business Intelligence, Data Governance, Business Process Analysis or some combination thereof.

SKILLS

  • Proven Agile project management skills leading cross-functional projects and initiatives, implementing process and system changes.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with keen eye for detail.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to engage, collaborate, and influence various stakeholders at all organizational tiers.
  • Ability to assist development manager to increase efficiency and effectiveness of Agile development processes
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting with proven ability to operationalize metrics to support both operations and strategy.
  • Ability to manage a large number of projects/workstreams in parallel, matrix managing the overall resources of the Business Intelligence team.

  • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York.  This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.  Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan.
