Domtar Pulp & Paper, Co. is currently seeking candidates to fill its Production Technician position(s) for its Tatum Converting facility. This position organizationally reports to the Production Manager and is under the leadership of a Team Supervisor.
Utilizing the highest safety and environmental standards, the Domtar Tatum Converting facility converts large paper rolls into smaller sheets of paper that are used for a variety of purposes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepping paper rolls for the machine

Operate and clean machinery
-
Utilize cutting tools to remove packaging and creating machine splices

General housekeeping
-
Other duties as needed
HOURS: Domtar Tatum operates three shifts under an 8-hour rotating shift schedule. Operating days are Monday-Friday but could include overtime to meet the business needs as necessary.
SALARY: $19.64/hour plus $0.75/hour applicable shift premium with the potential of an advancement in salary after 6 months of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate(s) must demonstrate the following abilities:

Maintain all safety expectations set forth by Domtar

Work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Work rotating shifts (8 hours 1st, 2nd & 3rd shift)

Meet or exceed goals

Physical job capabilities including but not limited to lifting, pushing, pulling, standing for long periods of time, etc.

High school diploma or GED required.

English, written and spoken, is required.

Two years of manufacturing experience or secondary education is a plus.

Basic computer & communication skills

Good mechanical troubleshooting skills

Successfully complete a selection process that includes a structured board interview, background verification, fit-for-duty test, and drug screen.
