Production Technician

Longford, Ireland
Full-Time

In this role, you will ensure adherence to production/process specifications, report any malfunctions or abnormalities, and make minor adjustments and repairs to equipment.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Complies with all Safety related procedures
    • Report damage, incident, near misses
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation, output, quality, and performance of the relevant production line and line support team
    • Hour-by-hour follow-up and response to or escalation of line malfunctions
    • Efficient and effective problem-solving and escalating if necessary
    • Report irregularities and problems to the team leader
  • Operate and monitor the production activities and equipment uptime and target outputs
  • Responsible for all batch documentation and cGMP of each production run
  • Participate effectively in reviewing and implementing accurate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
  • Report variance or deviation from Standard Operating Procedures to the Supervisor
  • Perform running, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance
  • Maintains Production line areas in a clean and orderly manner at all times
  • Coaching and training of team members guaranteeing standard work (safety, quality, traceability, service, production)
  • Responsible for the timely set up of machines and supporting the update of set-up procedures for improved turnaround times
  • Actively participate in Lean programs with a focus on line efficiency and waste reduction
    • 5S in the work area

Additional duties and responsibilities:

  • Any other activities as requested by Manager/Supervisor
  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent required.
  • Willingness to work on 2 or 3 cycle shifts rota.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Skilled in anticipating and troubleshooting problems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Team environment experience.
  • Possesses solid interpersonal skills
  • Possesses mathematical and mechanical/ technical skills.
  • Must be motivated towards productivity improvements, safety, and quality awareness.
  • Skilled in working independently in a safe and timely manner.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage
  • Experience working in the Medical Device Industry is desirable
