What is the role? 

ICEYE is seeking a Senior Production Manager to oversee a team of up to 30 engineers and technicians and manage the on-floor activities of key production and assembly facilities. This dynamic role requires the ability to scale and transform the current production line to build up to 50 highly reliable satellites per year. You will need to monitor key production metrics, implement improvement actions, manage production schedules, identify risks, and effectively communicate with key stakeholders. As a Senior Production Manager, you will lead several complex, multi-disciplinary production teams and projects, addressing the unique engineering challenges we face daily in building satellites constellation and customer satellites. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of products, optimizing performance, and effectively coordinating with your team to solve complex problems.

Requirements

What will you need to be successful in this role?

  • You will need the ability and experience for leading and managing a team of up to 10+ employees 
  • You possess extensive knowledge in managing a transformation towards a lean production line 
  • You have a strong grasp of lean manufacturing principles, and your approach to work is deeply influenced by its practical applications.
  • You can readily offer numerous concrete examples of how lean manufacturing shapes your methods and outcomes.  
  • You have been involved in all phases of manufacturing and have seen the early phase bootstrapping phases of manufacturing to large scale optimization phases.  
  • To succeed in this role, you will need to effectively oversee the modification, repair, assembly, and integration of production assemblies, ensuring that on-time delivery and quality targets are consistently met. 
  • You possess extensive experience in quality management across all stages of manufacturing processes, spanning from supplier quality to final product quality. You've witnessed the evolution from initial phase quality methodologies to a more refined and mature approach over time.  
  • As an individual, you exude high energy and influence, possessing the ability to not only inspire others to embrace change but also to actively lead and propel it forward.
  • You possess numerous instances of successfully driving significant changes in manufacturing processes and development. Ideally, you also have experiences of failures, providing valuable learning opportunities. These changes may encompass technical process enhancements, organizational restructuring, and other initiatives aimed at removing barriers to achieving our desired impact. 
  • Working in earlier phase manufacturing, you are able to navigate the phases of needing to go fast while you are improving the approach continuously.  
  • Your communication style is adaptable, allowing you to effectively engage with technicians as well as C-level executives. You feel at ease participating in discussions at any level pertaining to manufacturing and assembly processes. 

In addition to the above, it would be beneficial if you had the below attributes and skills:

  • Python
  • Lean approach

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the workload of a team of skilled manufacturing Technicians and Responsibles
  • Ensure new technicians are trained effectively to support manufacturing operations
  • Work directly with the production planner, configuration and supply chain teams to plan, resource and execute manufacturing plans for satellite hardware
  • Work closely with the quality assurance and integration teams across multiple missions to provide required hardware before the defined deadlines
  • Assist in managing inventory of manufacturing equipment, tools and consumables
  • Ensure the team is following all appropriate ICEYE procedures including lab policies, quality policies, safety policies, etc
  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve processes, equipment and work environment, and communicate them with Production Engineering team
  • Promote and maintain a positive work environment and culture of ownership
  • Drive a strong focus on safety to achieve excellent safety performance with the team

Benefits

  • Base salary range for this position is  €2600-5900 per month (gross) contingent on your experience level, and will be negotiated individually
