ROLE DESCRIPTION
Capco is looking for Production Support Engineer or Senior Engineer with prior experience in incident management and managing operational processes as well as providing leadership to the team in the pursuit of operational excellence. Candidates should have a technical background and will be responsible for production support at an Enterprise Command Center with 60+ India based SRE and Production Support Engineers.
- Monitor production applications and systems to detect and debug issues across services
- Improve operational processes (such as deployments and upgrades) to ensure they are as uneventful as possible and improve system stability and efficiency
- Enable automation through tools to streamline operations
- Work on performance enhancements/developments as prioritized by Business and deploy into production following the Change Management Cycle
- Work on service requests using the service management workflow, raised by Business Users and provide resolutions
- Collaborate with development teams to manage code deployments and software
- Provide regular status updates and keep documentation for procedures and resolutions
- Drive initiatives to develop long-term solutions and operational excellence
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- At least 5 years of Financial Services experience in the relevant field
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering or other relevant technical fields
- Comfortable maintaining existing Production Support Solutions whilst leading production improvement activities
- Deep skills in systems (operating systems, storage subsystems, networking) whilst implementing best practices for availability, reliability, and scalability
- Strong interpersonal skills around communication, teamwork, time management, adaptability, and critical thinking
- Verifiable interests in algorithms and distributed systems
- Experience with knowledge management systems, preferably Confluence and SharePoint
- Knowledge associated with GLOSS, SWIFT, BPSA, PMC, Algo, OWS would be a positive
- Experience scripting on Unix/Linux using Python
- Database application development experience (Oracle, SQL Server etc.)
- DevOps SME with exposure to FinOps considered an added benefit
- Must be considered an expert and go to person regarding Informatica and Batch Job Schedulers (TWS / Autosys)
- Build monitoring solutions that alert on symptoms rather than on outages
- Strong experience with BI tools preferably Grafana
- Significant multiyear experience working within Production Support, SRE, and DevOps
- Performance troubleshooting and tuning experience
- Experience with development tools that aid in debugging, locating memory errors, performance analysis, etc
- Financial Services Industry experience
- Knowledge of Cloud – AWS, Azure and Snowflake would be considered a big plus
- Excellent verbal and written skills and ability to liaise with all levels from interns to Board Level Members
- Pro-active and entrepreneurial manager, comfortable with ownership responsibilities, who demonstrates a can-do attitude
- Able to function effectively as a leader at the Enterprise Command Center and go to resource for incident management and application monitoring
- Prepared to work India Production Day Hours and stay as long as required, if business challenges necessitate your personal input on shift handovers to get the job done
