We are actively looking for a Production Supervisor to join our team in Ballybay, Monaghan.

In this role, you will oversee a shift in the production area, working to ensure that our operations run smoothly and effectively across multiple shifts. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll collaborate with various departments on Technical, New Product Development (NPD), and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) matters.

The success of this position hinges on your ability to lead the team by facilitating timely communication and addressing all aspects of training, absence management, and employee relations in accordance with best practices and regulatory standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:

  • To ensure that the production process complies with all quality, cleaning and hygiene standards
  • To partake in site meetings across all key functions, include Hygiene, HACCP and daily production meetings
  • To ensure that production schedules are communicated to area leaders in a timely manner and to ensure that all product changeovers, start ups and shut downs are controlled to ensure that product specification is adhered to
  • To ensure that product/process food safety standards and traceability are maintained
  • To monitor area environment and machinery, reporting any faults or maintenance required to the Maintenance Manager
  • To monitor raw material handling ensuring that any and all products in Standard Care and High Care Packing is compliant with agreed specifications
  • To report on efficiencies and non-conformances on a daily basis, implementing corrective actions when necessary
  • To input run data information into the system at the end of shift, detailing downtime and any related problems
  • To ensure effective shift changeovers occur, clearly communicating any issues to the other shift supervisor
  • To ensure all employees have on the job training and the correct SOP’s are signed off in a timely manner once training has been completed.

Requirements

SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Manufacturing Experience in a high volume FMCG environment essential
  • IT literate
  • A working knowledge of Key Performance Indicators is preferred
  • Experience of leading a team advantageous
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Confidence to make on the spot decisions
  • Knowledge of Movex Inventory Management System advantageous

Note: as with all positions, due to the nature of the business, key responsibilities will evolve and change over time. May be required to cover the Production Manager in times of absence.
