Production Operator/Packer BB

Kepak St. Merryn in Merthyr Tydfil has combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers’ counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance. 

Our Beef Boning Department is looking for people who are interested in getting involved in the Abattoir processes. This might be packing the meat and sorting the meat - all part of learning about the business to further your career at Kepak.

Working 40 hours a week Monday to Friday from 6.00am with flexibility on finishing times.

• Ensuring our products consistently meet high quality standards by following clear operational processes and customer specifications.
• Recognizing the importance of your role in the overall efficiency of the line and constantly seeking ways to improve our processes.
• Prioritizing the health and safety of yourself and your team by strictly adhering to all rules and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements

Specifically, you will:

• Check the cuts of meat to ensure that they are in line with specifications.
• Be able to recognise the different cuts of meat (training will be given).
• Arrange meat in packaging, complying with display requirements.
• Placing trays/boxes on correct pallets to customer specification.
• Ensure that the pack weight is correct.
• Reject any items including packaging and meats that look to be outside of our quality specifications.
• Be working in a chilled environment.
• Flexible to meet daily production targets.
