The Position

Alene Candles is seeking a Production Line Lead on 1st shift to be responsible for pour end operation and employees in pour end zone. This will include but not limited to staffing, training, achieving efficiency standards, ensuring a quality product is produced, and achieving scheduled completion dates. Downtime will be tracked by the Pour Lead and corrective actions coordinated with the Pour End Assistant Supervisor. Pour Lead will work with the Assistant Supervisor to ensure training is achieved, work orders are communicated, setups are completed, and the right tooling and fixtures are on-line for the appropriate jobs. Will be required to collect and report on key production data as defined by the Manufacturing Supervisor. Will be responsible for 5S and continuous improvement activities on their respective lines and will provide support for department and site 5S and continuous improvement efforts. Sets the example for respectful leadership and cooperation and assists in motivating employees to achieve work goals.

Rate of Pay


The Production Line Lead position pays $20.00/hour.

The Hours

Join our dynamic team with a consistent first shift schedule from Monday to Thursday! Our starting times adjust based on the product line-up for the day, usually commencing between 3:30am and 5:30am, letting you wrap up after a 10-hour day.

The Location

We are located at 51 Scarborough Lane, Milford, NH. This position is onsite.

Who We Are Looking For

The Production Line Lead is perfect for someone with great communication and leadership skills! You will be responsible for ensuring your work area is running at peak efficiency and keeping morale high. Safety compliance is a huge part of this position, and it is your job to ensure that the employees you are leading go home in one piece.

Additional Job Details

  • Follows and complies with all safety rules and regulations. Maintains individual work area/equipment in a neat, orderly manner. Detects and reports improper operations, faulty equipment/ tooling, defective materials and unusual conditions to material lead or supervisor.
  • Take daily attendance for zone and provide Assistant Supervisor updates as needed
  • Verify all employees have logged into ShopVue
  • Start shop orders in ShopVue
  • Report all scrap in Shopvue for every order
  • Performs activities of candle maker when assigned to assist or relieve on an individual basis to avoid shutdown.
  • Ability to take weights & enter information accurately into weights database.
  • Make necessary valve adjustments when required to ensure quality is to job standards.
  • Working with the Pour Technician to set up machines and equipment; communicate with Pour Technician to assure lines are in perfect operating condition.
  • Maximize line efficiency with minimal direction.
  • Ability to write routine reports.
  • Ability to organize and monitor workflow while achieving quality, efficiency & daily goals.
  • Ability to read / understand Manufacturing Assembly Process as well as deviations if necessary.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Resolve personnel issues on-line
  • Ability to lead & direct all production line operators.
  • Flexibility to run ALL lines as required.
  • Use of all hand tools as needed.
  • Ability to utilize hand jack when necessary.
  • Knowledge of wax types & characteristics.
  • Ability to identify issues quickly and implement solutions as needed.
  • Work well with multiple departments.
  • Compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Compliance with quality control methods.
  • Ensure all people throughout line are rotated systematically for cross training purposes as well as safety and ergonomic reasons.
  • Knowledge and ability to operate various machines.
  • Ability to communicate equipment issues to maintenance & supervisors.
  • Effective verbal & written communication skills to deliver valuable teamwork.
  • Ensures that assigned line meets daily goals, safety requirements and follows quality standards.
  • Follow 5s guidelines
    • Maintain clean work environment (Production Floor)
    • Report all unsafe work areas
    • Clear all lines of obstacles and trash
    • Constantly be observing and promoting changes
    • Sustain improvements

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Ability to understand quality control methods
  • Ability to use various machines and practical skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the products manufactured in the factory
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to follow and execute instructions
  • Accurate, patient, careful, responsible, quick, and alert.
