Production Lead supervises hourly production Team Members to meet goals related to production schedules, food safety/quality, and workplace safety. As a member of management, the Production Lead will be required to achieve department and plant objectives; and must be able to supervise, train, coach, counsel, and direct other Team Members in accordance with company policy and procedure. This position works with beef and pork products, as well as other ingredients that may be a potential allergen.
1. Supervising a team of employees, 15 or more, to achieve business results.
a. Achieves production targets in a safe and efficient manner.
b. Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, warehouse, and quality departments to achieve and sustain results.
c. Supports production personnel by maintaining a visible presence on the production floor.
d. Maintains an engaged and team-oriented workforce.
2. Provides Support to Company Policies and Procedures
a. Creates an environment that expresses concern and consistency toward all team members.
b. Promotes cooperation and dedication to superior workmanship among all team members.
c. Provides training for team members on company policies, rules, regulations and job specific duties and responsibilities.
d. Monitors and enforces adherence to GMP’s and specifications. Maintains high levels of sanitation, housekeeping and product quality.
e. Follow daily work schedule and reports variances.
f. Encourages best use of energy and resources with minimal waste
3. Regularly reviews all applicable legislation and applicable standards to ensure company compliance.
a. Ensure that all incidents are reported immediately.
b. Participates in the determining of the root causes of incidents.
c. Keep up-to-date on all company safety policies, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
d. Notify maintenance of issues regarding equipment maintenance.
4. May assume other duties as assigned.
