Join our data acquisition unit focusing on engineering shared technical platforms that underpin all our products and services. We build a diverse range of technical products with a focus on collecting, storing and distributing the data points that empower the business to operate at the scale and agility needed to deliver market-leading offerings. Our products handle millions of data points daily, covering everything from which sports events are played and where to the real-time data changes for a given match. Data we collect and process then gets distributed both internally within the organisation and externally to end-users.
We are looking for a Product Owner with a strong technical aptitude, experience in building backend systems and a passion for solving complex problems. The Product Owner manages requirements across development teams and owns the scope of the developed product or feature. They are the bridge between stakeholders inside and outside of the unit and the development team. The product owner enables the development team to succeed and is responsible for product vision and roadmap. They align the roadmap to the overall business and engineering strategies. They are responsible for the successful delivery of product iterations with tangible business outcomes while keeping the focus on the high quality of the deliveries. They are part of product operations to continuously inspect and adapt our ways of working.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaboratively creating products to ensure the alignment to the company’s roadmap and its related deliverables by the engineering teams
Translate business requirements into user specifications with sufficient details about the product features so that they can be clearly understood by the engineering teams
Understand the business value behind feature requests to be able to prioritize the product backlog
Breaking down the specifications into user stories and corresponding features with the agile engineering team
Helping to solve product-related problems and highlighting risks and opportunities
Ensuring that projects stay on track to achieve delivery commitments, including problem-solving and trade-off analysis when necessary
Working with the engineering team and monitoring the progress of products during the development cycle to ensure that they have the correct functionality according to the scope
Taking part in demonstrations of software releases and collecting feedback on improvements for future development
Prepare product presentations, user guides and additional documentation in association with the Finances, Sales, Legal or Marketing team
YOUR PROFILE
Must-Have
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or an equivalent in experience from the technology sector is yours
Previous work experience as a technical product owner, working closely with the engineering teams on software development
Previous experience in leading, motivating and driving engineering teams to success
You have a good understanding of the development process and product development lifecycle and have experience with agile methodologies
Previous experience in writing exceptional requirements for engineering teams using BDD or TDD methodology and a Gherkin format for Acceptance Criteria
Minimum viable product definition, product roadmaps and prioritising product backlogs do not concern you
With your organisational and time management skills and the ability to work across different teams and units, you deliver a common strategy
You take ownership, manage risk and are accountable for deliverables
You have a collaborative attitude with all stakeholders during the scoping of product features
You pay attention to detail in product design and development while not losing the overview of the high-level picture
You are a creative and strategic thinker with problem-solving skills
You come with good communication and presentation skills
Creating reports and presentations is for you a way of communicating the team’s success
You are an expert user of Confluence, Jira and Miro
You are willing to learn new technologies and dive deep into the newest market offerings
Nice-to-Have
You are a sports data fan and are enthused by the prospect of working on solutions that sit at the intersection of technology and sport
Previous experience with working on complex distributed systems on a scale in the domain of data engineering
Experience in working with cloud computing technologies like AWS, GCP or other
Solid knowledge of web technologies, networking and APIs
Strong interest in AI
