Product Owner, Experian Data Quality (US Remote)

What you'll be doing

  • Responsible for supporting the product development and release of two main product suites: Data Enrichment (Phone, Email, Address) and Data Quality/Governance (Hosted/Non-hosted SaaS, Aperture Data Studio)
  • Work directly with the Director of Product to ensure both tactical plans and strategic vision are appropriate and position product suite for growth and success
  • Provide product management support as product owner creating appropriate Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) for product upgrades and enhancements
  • Work closely with North America and Group/Central UK product teams acting as team liaison and point of contact for development opportunities that drive revenue growth and new logo campaigns
  • Support and create client facing materials including user guides, collateral, quick reference sheets for product enablement and quick fix/resolution communication
  • Act as a partner to Marketing and Sales in support of product training and creation of Sales enablement materials
  • Work closely with Product Managers/Leaders across the Experian business units to stay connected to the needs of the users to enable them to explain the business scenarios across products
  • Work closely with software developers and engineers who have primary responsibilities for product upgrades and enhancement. Includes ability to work in Agile methodology supporting the ongoing grooming of backlog and working directly with Engineering, PMs, and Compliance to facilitate software development and remove roadblocks
  • Prioritize backlog to ensure stories and requirements are ordered in a logical manner, incorporating feedback from Engineering and Product teams, taking into consideration dependencies and incremental development goals
  • Understand product bugs and defects during development, provide updates to the business, and track remediation actions
  • Communicate the technical needs of end users, conduct initial requirement walk-throughs with development teams, and clarify requirements through each sprint
  • Make decisions on behalf of the Product team to unblock development teams
  • Escalate questions or issues to Product Managers, Program team, and PMO as needed
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) where applicable
  • Responsible for the success of the release, including ensuring documentation is updated and completed

What your background looks like

  • 4+ years' of experience in product management as a product owner or product manager, or 4+ years' of experience working as a consultant in a product solutions management role, or 4+ years' of experience as a project manager
  • Demonstrated experience in Software as a Solution
  • Strong business acumen in data quality, data enrichment, and data governance
  • Experience with broad regulatory agencies (e.g., CFPB, OCC, FTC) and requirements (e.g., Privacy, GLB, FCRA)
  • Experience in at least one of the following: Financial Services/Retail Banking, FinTech, Consumer Retail, Healthcare, Commercial/Small Business, Mortgage, Automotive, Marketing Services
  • Experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and webpage workflow
  • Experience working with collaboration and issue tracking tools such as Confluence and Jira, and experience with Salesforce or related product tools
  • Experience working in Agile Development environment
  • Skilled at working with stakeholders to drive decision points and resolutions
  • Detail orientated and strong analytical thinker capable of making key decisions for product releases
  • Experience in ensuring teams uphold the highest standards and effectiveness in delivering product roadmap and vision
  • Demonstrated ability to work on virtual global teams, helping navigate the challenges of being a global team. Promoting the vision of being ‘One Team’ for all global resources
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, including the ability to effectively communicate to non-technical and technical team members and leaders
  • Experience working on both new enhancement and maintenance software development projects
  • Bachelor's degree in product/operations management, information technology, computer science, engineering, or related field required
