Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Software Product Owner to collaborate closely with our product and development teams to ensure the successful delivery of features and enhancements that support the broader vision of our VOD app. Working alongside the Product Manager, the Product Owner will help bring the defined product roadmap to life by translating strategic objectives into actionable tasks and driving development progress through agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Backlog Management: Own the product backlog, transforming the strategic vision into well-defined user stories and tasks. Prioritize the backlog to maximize business value and align with product goals.
  • Feature Development: Collaborate with engineering, design, and content teams to guide feature development in line with the product’s objectives. Clarify requirements and resolve any technical and design challenges.
  • Agile Collaboration: Serve as the primary point of contact for the development team throughout sprints. Participate actively in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure smooth delivery.
  • User Experience Focus: Ensure that the app offers a high-quality, user-friendly experience across all devices (mobile, web, and smart TVs). Work with UX/UI designers to refine feature requirements and enhance usability.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates on sprint progress, upcoming releases, and feature delivery to key stakeholders. Act as a bridge between the development team and business, integrating feedback as needed.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Collaborate with analytics to track the impact of delivered features, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and refine future development based on insights.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and drive process and product improvements, whether through technical enhancements, workflow optimizations, or tool updates.
  • Integration & Content Support: Oversee the technical integration of new content, third-party services, and APIs, ensuring compatibility with platform goals and business strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role in software development.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and experience working in agile environments.
  • Experience managing product backlogs and working closely with engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with video streaming technologies, API integrations, and content management systems (CMS).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret user data and drive data-informed decisions.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
