As ATB’s next Product Operations Manager,  you will play a key role in supporting the Banking and Payments Products and Services team in achieving our goal to power possibility through innovative banking and payment solutions for our clients and team members. 

The Banking & Payments Products & Services team (BPPS) team owns, operates, and manages the life cycles of over 250 products at ATB. We collaborate closely with our Business Partners across ATB, and in alignment with our 10 year strategy, ensure we deliver and maintain an optimized product shelf that meets the specific needs of ATB’s clients.

The Strategic Enablement Office within BPPS, is accountable for supporting the overall team through strategy development, communication within the team and across  the organization, operational and portfolio management and product operations support.


Reporting to the Managing Director of the Strategic Enablement office, you will enable the Product Managers by understanding the key performance indicators (KPI’s) for our products, spearheading the gathering of data requirements,  and coordinating the development of the KPI reporting in partnership with our internal teams.  With the knowledge of the product KPI’s, you will support senior leadership by establishing the overall team’s success measurements, measuring and tracking progress, creating materials, and providing regular status update briefings on the key metric results and insights.   

You are a self-starter, tenacious, comfortable with ambiguity, and thrive in a fast paced environment. Your outgoing nature makes you a natural for collaborating with internal partners. You play a key role in liaising with your peer group with a focus on bringing back and enabling best practices in key product operations functions.  

You have a strong hunger and curiosity around problem solving, analyzing and displaying data in ways that help inform planning/strategies, generate feedback loops, and ensure quality decisions are made.

Product Operations Manager Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with Product Managers to understand the product KPI’s and gather reporting requirements
  • Work with Senior Leadership to develop overall team success measurements
  • Spearhead the development and completion of KPI reporting in partnership with our internal teams
  • Measure and track KPI progress, create materials and provide regular status updates on the results, translating and telling the story behind the data
  • Gather, ingest, and deliver actionable reporting and insights through collaboration with internal partners
  • Influence and support strategic planning at the senior leadership level by providing a horizontal lens into the established success metrics
  • Trusted partner to product + business leaders to model how product operations is a key partner in delivering customer and business value
  • Liaison with other product operations teams to learn and enable best practices within our team
  • Own personal development and learning of data relevant tools such as (but not limited to) Tableau, Qualtrics, applying SSI (Self-Service Insights) and visualizing concepts to the analytic process
  • Apply business acumen and judgment when guiding decisions related to the team’s success measurement framework

Requirements

  • Expertise with success measurement frameworks, KPIS, and OKRs and an ability to connect product specific metrics to strategic goals 
  • Collaboration-partnering to create a holistic and effective success measurement framework
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with proficiency on presenting and translating data in a simple and smart manner 
  • Familiarity with banking and payments product development would be an asset
  • Strong data analysis skills, you can see trends and insights and make connections to the “so what?”or “now what?”
  • Ability to give and receive feedback- may need to have difficult conversations when delivering KPI results and recommendations 
  • A passion for being client centric and having that at the core of everything you do
  • 360-degree influence— an ability to leverage data and clearly interpret and translate data to inform strategies and articulate them in a way that gains buy-in of peers, leaders and stakeholders
  • Flexibility- is able to promote consistency of practice while employing flexibility in approach to serve evolving requirements
  • Creative Problem solving - using creativity to develop new ideas and solutions to problems that haven't been tackled before
  • Basic statistical analysis (e.g. correlations and statistical significance).  Data science skills are an asset but not required
  • A general understanding of the technical foundation to create and share insights to inform strategy, in tools available to help with pulling or acquiring new data or data visualization, such as working with SQL, GCP/Big Query and Tableau, and familiarity (or ability to learn) Google Analytics, Figma, AVO, Mixpanel, Looker and documentation to support like Jira, Confluence and Miro
