About the Marketing Team

At ZigZag we have big ambitions, and marketing needs to provide our engine for growth.  From creating demand to capturing demand, the role of Marketing at ZigZag Global is to build an environment in which retailers feel compelled to improve their returns experience.  We do this by close collaboration with product and commercial teams and by making ROI-based marketing decisions to maximize our impact.   We are the team that brings big ideas, analysis, market knowledge, and the drive to power ZigZag and our clients forward.

 

The Role

We are in search of a Product Marketing Manager who resonates with our Purpose, Vision, and Values and is eager to contribute to a team where these principles are more than words – they guide our actions. In this Product Marketing role, you get to bring ZigZag’s products and features to life in the market.  You will be responsible for launching new products, positioning them in the market, messaging, building sales enablement material as well as creating the collateral to drive awareness and demand.   Importantly, you will also research the market to help us refine our product offer and create the systems to ensure that market and product knowledge is shared across the business. 

To be successful in this role you will have gained experience in a B2B Tech/SaaS business as a Product Marketer.  Experience in retail or logistics would be a major advantage.   You will be able to demonstrate how you delivered successful product launches and be able to explain your experiences in the core aspects of this role – Positioning, messaging, competitive intelligence, market research, supporting sales with value propositions, demand-gen marketing campaigns, and voice of the customer (for ZigZag this is the buyers/decision makers at e-commerce retailers). 

The role suits a self-motivated and upbeat team player, seeking the opportunity to make the post-purchase experience in retail a better, more sustainable experience that benefits both the customer and the retailer.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the GTM launch of ZigZag’s new products and features as well as refining the positioning and support materials for existing products and features.
  • Conducting and interpreting research, gaining insights from retailers and the wider market to validate product fit, and help determine positioning, feature priorities, messaging, naming, and pricing. 
  • You will bring the voice of the customer to these projects and decisions. 
  • Build the value proposition & ROI tools for each product to help clients & prospects understand and measure the impact of implementing these solutions.
  • Develop naming and messaging and ensure consistency across ZigZag’s teams and marketing channels.
  • Develop the sales enablement material (including videos, infographics, presentations and blogs) to enable Sales and Client Success Teams to upsell successfully.
  • Develop the client-facing collateral that facilitates a self-service client acquisition journey for specific channels.
  • Build the digital marketing capability (i.e. website, landing pages, social, campaigns, media) to drive demand in line with client acquisition and revenue/GP targets.
  • Orchestrate the product-related content marketing and thought leadership that demonstrates ZigZag’s leadership in retail returns.
  • Lead competitor research & understanding on behalf of the organisation, enabling insights and tools (i.e. battle cards) to be distributed across ZigZag teams.
  • Measure ZigZag and competitor feature uptake across the various target markets & segments
  • Build relationships with industry experts, tech partners, and other influencers in the retail and logistics eco-system - to leverage their expertise as well as gain wider exposure for ZigZag’s products
  • Continually refine and supplement ZigZag’s understanding of buyer personas
  • Work with Product Management teams to ensure commercial teams are trained and ready to sell.
  • Work with Senior Leadership across Product and Commercial Teams to define goals and metrics for launch.
  • Measurement of GTM success via sharing dashboards and reports
  • Build a library of case studies to help bring the value of ZigZag’s features to life for the retail industry.
  • Work with clients and prospects to gather feedback and conduct experiments on use cases and value propositions during pre- and post-product launch
  • Contribute insight to ‘product pricing’ projects.

Requirements

  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders – i.e. product team, sales team, client success team as well as clients, beta clients, key prospects, and partners.
  • Ability to craft stories that visually & narratively motivate buyers to take action.
  • Proactive use of social media to engage with the target audience and listen to them.
  • To bring products to life, you will need to bring analytical skills and tools to evaluate competitors, products, and GTM performance and combine them with creativity and storytelling skills to initiate change.
  • Success in this role will be measured by the success of ZigZag’s products and the candidate will be expected to define and measure GTM success, demand generation as well as client/prospect engagement.
