Watershed is hiring a

Product marketing manager

London, United Kingdom

About Watershed

Watershed is a software platform for running a world-class climate program. We measure our success in the carbon reduction achievements of our customers. We are looking for team members who love product-building, want to work hard at a mission-oriented startup, and will collaborate with us in shaping the culture of a growing team.

We have offices in San Francisco, New York and London and remote team members across the US and Europe. We hope that you'll be interested in joining us!

The role

As Watershed’s first PMM in Europe, you’ll be leading product messaging and positioning, in order to drive pipe, accelerate open opportunities, and close deals. Partnering closely with teams across Watershed––from product to sales, policy to leadership, and more––you’ll support our revenue goals and go-to-market motions by delivering exceptional product marketing that differentiates our solutions, meaningfully accelerates demand, and advances the climate conversation.

Our ideal candidate will be a seasoned product marketer with a proven track record of clear, compelling product messaging that delivers results. You’ll be someone who loves rolling up their sleeves to get the job done, and is equally comfortable––and excited––to take new products to market, make a product demo, develop website messaging, do a competitive analysis, or analyze performance metrics. You don’t need to be a climate expert (yet!), but passion for our mission is a big plus.

You will

  • Partner closely with the product, sales and policy teams, to define messaging and positioning, create compelling materials for sales teams and marketing campaigns, and launch new products, features, and solutions to a highly competitive market.
  • Lead product marketing for Watershed solutions that are particularly compelling for the European market, including driving key launches, developing messaging and positioning, creating marketing and sales collateral, and providing subject-matter expertise
  • Source and synthesize audience, customer, and market insights to inform product and GTM strategy for the core platform
  • Produce a high volume of high-quality content that brings our value proposition, key differentiators, and customer evidence to life
  • Develop enablement materials that equip GTM teams (sales, CS, and others) to effectively sell and evangelize Watershed
  • Be a subject-matter expert on the product strategy, roadmap, and features of our core platform, and use your knowledge to enable other teams within Watershed
  • Build and reinforce a culture of diversity, inclusion, and high performance

In any given month, the types of projects you’ll work on may include:

  • A launch for a new product or solution
  • New demo videos or product tours for sales to share with prospects
  • Product roadmap sessions for customers and GTM teams
  • Event content that highlights Watershed’s product innovation

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 5-7 years of marketing experience, with at least 4+ years of that in B2B product marketing
  • A strong track record of product messaging and positioning for B2B enterprise software products
  • A customer-first mindset that translates into crisp, differentiated messaging & positioning
  • Technical aptitude for deeply understanding the Watershed platform and creating demos
  • A collaborative spirit and excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Outstanding writing and communication skills
  • Comfort with fast-paced, scrappy environments, with a bias towards being proactive and self-directed

FAQ

Where does Watershed work?

We have hub offices in San Francisco, New York and London, and some remote team members in the US and EU. Most of our jobs need to be in San Francisco / New York / London, but certain jobs are open to being remote and will be specifically noted on the jobs page and in the job description.

What’s the interview process like?

It starts the same for every candidate: getting to know the team members through 1 to 2 conversations about Watershed, your experience, and your interests. Next steps can vary by role, but usual next steps are a skill or experience screen (e.g. a coding interview for an engineer, a portfolio review for a designer, deeper experience call for other roles) which leads to a virtual or in person interview panel after that if the screens go well. We prioritize transparency and lack of surprise throughout the process.
