About the Job

The Product Manager will manage Respiratory Health and Sexual Health Test products across the entire product lifecycle. You will be a powerhouse who obtains deep customer insights and represents the voice of the customer. You will develop and conduct market and user research, make product proposals including user journeys, write market and product requirements, and lead the product through the development and design stages. You will partner with the engineering teams along with other internal stakeholders throughout the entire product lifecycle process. You will work with product marketing to ensure a successful launch and adoption and provide expertise throughout the entire product lifecycle.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Assist in managing the Respiratory Health and Sexual Health product roadmap and lifecycle in alignment with corporate objectives. Develop business justification for recommendations and gain alignment across key stakeholders on project prioritization.
  • Develop the business justification for new products / features and user journeys by working with healthcare professionals and consumer customers and internal stakeholders. Develop business analyses, including competitive assessments, to facilitate sound data-driven decision making.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative market research methods, direct customer interviews, and observations to develop insights that inform the product roadmap. Refine requirements with feedback from customers and internal teams such as clinical, sales, and engineering teams.
  • Represent the voice of the customer in the product development process, complete deliverables such as market requirements and product requirements documents, and facilitate tradeoff discussions with R&D teams while keeping the needs of the customer and the business in mind.
  • Engage with Human Factors partners during the development process by establishing product and design requirements, prioritizing design efforts, coordinating design reviews, and documenting and communicating design decisions.
  • Convey product value proposition to marketing for product positioning and messaging.
  • Support product commercialization plans with the commercial team.
  • Measure product success by monitoring product adoption and seeking post-launch product feedback.
  • Understand competitive, emerging, and complementary technology and its potential impact on Visby product lines.
  • Work with the product engineering team to evaluate new technologies and prioritize the new business development pipeline.
  • Develop a deep understanding of rapid PCR diagnostics for applicable indications, including monitoring and consuming clinical literature, attending medical society meetings, and engaging with customers and influencers.

On Your First Day We’d Like You to Have

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree required. MBA is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 4 or more years of professional experience in product management, marketing, engineering, business development, or equivalent role.

It’s Great If You Have

  • Knowledge of medical diagnostic product development for consumers and health care professionals preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest in healthcare, hospital operations, and medical devices.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, professional manner.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with proven ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines to ensure product success and ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. This includes the ability to lead in bridging communication between engineering, human factors, marketing, sales, and customers.
  • Presentation skills to internal & external audiences including leaders at the VP level.
  • Self-directed with awareness to proactively seek advice when needed.
  • Quantitative mindset, proven ability to investigate open-ended problems and work cross-functionally to implement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work creatively amidst competing priorities.
  • Ability to prioritize and smoothly manage multiple competing deadlines and tasks
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Salary Range:

  • $105,000 - $130,000 (Minimum to maximum salary range for candidates based in San Jose, CA)
  • Compensation for the role is based on geographical location. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly.
  • Compensation also depends on a number of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
