Product Manager – Native App Platform
Job Introduction
As the Product Manager for Native App Platform, you will be a member of the Online Platform team whose mission is to accelerate time-to-market and maintain stability for our consumers, by reducing complexity and providing scalable, effective products.
Tesco is currently investing in the rollout of its Digital Design System (DDS) across many front-end channels across Tesco Group. The DDS contains component libraries for Web and Native app components which can be used across Tesco Group by front-end experience teams.
You will be responsible for the product vision & strategy for Tesco app platform and the Native Component Library for the Digital Design System (iOS & Android). Partnering with business stakeholders to set the future direction as part of the wider business strategy.
You will be responsible for the adoption of the DDS for Native Apps across Tesco Group, as well as being a champion for best practice development. You will own and manage the backlog for product delivery.
You will work with the business teams to understand customer needs and translate them into product requirements. You will co-ordinate with your engineering team to prioritise initiatives and plan business and platform features, thereby iteratively improving both the functionality and usability of your product, setting up for success.
Emphasis will be on the complete systems lifecycle, from establishing a practice and vision that spans design, build, release, document, and analyse. Taking a systems-mindset to build and integrate consistent, efficient components across the Tesco product portfolio (Shop App and beyond), you will maintain a high quality, accessible library used by many product teams.
The product engineering culture at Tesco focusses on problem solving and not on solution led outcomes. We aim to balance an empowered environment where teams have end to end ownership and decision making; alongside standards, guidance and paved roads which minimise re-learning and duplication.
