Shutterfly is seeking an experienced Product Manager to serve as the business-wide PM for our Shopping module, working across teams to execute on and manage the product roadmap, supporting planning and strategy. This role demands a strong analytical mindset and a deep understanding of AI technologies, coupled with the ability to work effectively across teams to launch products that are innovative, user-centric, and commercially viable. This role is truly cross-functional, partnering with all functional areas including Business, Operations, Customer Service, Engineering and QA day to day.

The ideal candidate has experience in a marketplace, or e-commerce business with an interest in working across a wide variety of product needs with direct visibility to business performance. This candidate will also have a robust knowledge of AI capabilities and how they can be integrated into an ecommerce experience. We expect this candidate to lead in the planning and execution of AI projects ensuring aligning with the overall strategic vision.

What You’ll Do Here:

  • Collaborate with business leadership to understand Shutterfly’s product vision, managing roadmap for our Shopping platform including prioritization, metrics, and operations for our customer-facing requirements. 
  • Continually manage the overall product and project roadmaps including project management tasks such as sprint planning, capacity planning, daily status updates, removing blockers, and general problem resolution across internal engineering and external development partners.
  • Gather business / user requirements and success KPIs to build stories for Engineering managing between internal and external resources based on business need. Work with the engineering team and develop and continually manage a well-groomed backlog.
  • Develop an understanding of Shutterfly’s customer base and category competitors, to support in developing the product roadmap.
  • Identify product features, enhancements to grow the business or create operational efficiencies in line overall business strategy.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate AI into the business to grow the business and improve customer experience. Develop an AI roadmap for the future.
  • Anticipate and resolve resource gaps, obstacles, and timing issues. Ensure efficient use of company’s resources cross-functionally.
  • Build out A/B testing plans and measure key projects to inform future roadmap planning and continued development efforts, growing to inform product strategy and roadmap planning.

The Skills You’ll Bring:

  • 5-7 years of Product Management experience required supporting or managing a roadmap.
  • Proven experience in Ecommerce industry is essential.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to clearly communicate analysis to a broad audience.
  • Highly proficient with JIRA or related project management systems and highly proficient in creating user stories for an agile development environment.
  • Proficient with various System Development Life Cycles (Waterfall, Agile, Safe, etc.)
  • Experience with web analytics, A/B testing, and basic analysis as a part of feature-decision making.
  • Experience in working with onshore and offshore teams.
    Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills

It is helpful, but not required to have:

  • Any experience with or interest in photography or videography is always a plus!

The compensation package for this role is based on multiple factors, such as job level, responsibilities, location, and candidate experience. The base pay ranges included below are specific to the locations listed, and may not be applicable to other locations.


California: [$99,000-174,000]
Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island: [$122,000-159,250]
Colorado and Washington: [$122,500-147,500]
Nevada: [$115,250-159,250]

This opportunity can be remote, but candidates must reside in a state in which Shutterfly is registered to do business. This includes all US states except District of Columbia, North Dakota, Mississippi, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Wyoming.
