Product Manager, Retail Robotics (Japan/East Asia)

Gathered by high expertise professionals from all over the world, the engineering team consistently develops robotic hardware, software and AI technology in-house. TX aims to expand the scope of robotics activities beyond the factory floor and transform the fundamental nature of labor society.

Telexistence’s Business Development team is seeking an ambitious Product Manager to lead the launch of our robotic solutions to Japan and East Asian market. Working closely with the leadership team and product development team, the Product Manager will design, build and launch product capabilities to address labor shortage in the retail industry. This includes collaborating with internal and external hardware and software experts to build multi-year product roadmap and to optimize parts sourcing to enhance the scalability, reliability, and usability of the robot to ensure timely market launch.

The Product Manager will build trusted relationships with Telexistence’s clients and operational partners to deeply understand user needs and market demands, translating these into product specifications and requirements. The Product Manager will prioritize speed and scalability while delivering the best product quality to the targeted markets.

Responsibilities

  • Build trusted relationships with Telexistence’s clients and partner with cross-functional parties to research, document, and deeply understand what customers in the Japanese and East Asian retail industry need to resolve their labor shortage issues.
  • Support the hardware development team in optimizing the process of procuring the parts for the robots. Act as the point of contact for suppliers while assisting with sourcing new partners.
  • Define and keep track of the unit economics of the product and the key metrics to improve the unit economics.
  • Support breaking down the product roadmap into a detailed product development schedule with clear deliverables and metrics.
  • Partner with software and hardware engineers to deeply understand the technology that our products rely on and how to build on that technology to support growth and a desired user experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to collaborate and thrive in productive, healthy debate done with mutual respect and shared goals.
  • Ability to make complex concepts accessible to relevant parties through clear communication.
  • Native or advanced level of Japanese for business conversation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated success and a strong execution track record in building and sustaining scalable technology products.
  • Proven track record of successful stakeholder management, including executive communications, handling escalations, and advocating for ongoing investment in your product.
  • Experience working on hardware products, either in engineering or product management capacities.
  • Native or advanced level of English for business conversation

Position Location will be at Telexistence's Headquarters Office (Heiwajima, Tokyo) or another location designated by the company.
The role assignment may be modified based on organizational requirements. This could include changes to your job responsibilities, reporting structure, or team assignment.
